Not sure what's going on on Cactuar...on Midgardsormr there's TONS of PFs for Extremes other than Levi. Everyone is taking advantage of the echo and farming accessories/weps and opening up Levi access. As was said, Turn 6-9 wont make sense storywise w/o a Turn 5 clear. This gating has always existed. All the way back to 2004 and Dynamis in XI. You had to and STILL have to clear the cities to access the northlands/xarc and you had to and STILL have to clear past Diabolos in CoP to access Dreamlands. Have to pretty much clear CoP to access Sea..Zilart to access Sky. ToAU was a bit more open but you still had to clear all the chambers to fight Odin in Einherjar. Two avatars are locked behind ToAU story completion. Don't get me started on WotG gating. Some battlefields haven't been able to be run by anyone for years because of Campaign reqs.

With the 10% echo buff, even my Grandmother can clear Twintania.
On a serious note, seriously? People who can't beat Twintania at this stage of game just sucks too much. There is almost zero DPS checks anymore, all you need to do is take note of the effin' Twister casting bar, and Divebombs, even Death Sentence became a joke with this echo buff. If you're complaining why you're locked to the Second Coil of Bahamut, you deserved to be locked, and no, please don't expect to clear T1 of Second Coil if you can't even get passed Divebomb and Twister properly.
Goodluck and have a nice day.
PS:
If you still can't clear it this week, please wait until next week for 20% echo buff. Kthxbye.

Man this game isn't fair how come I can't do Coil at level 1????
I'm an IMPORTANT (note that i typed it in caps to emphasize my importance) paying customer and I should not have to do 49 more levels of progression and grinding to meet the item level requirements to do Coil!

You might very well be right. It's just that it makes sense for people to see that for themselves by trying it. Right now no one can even look at Turn 6 and come to that decision because no one except those that have cleared Turn 5 can make that judgement. What about people that have the ability to clear Turn 5 but haven't been able to due to time constraints? Why should they get stuck having to clear older content when the newer content is released and they can easily catch up on story via other means?
They can keep the lock out and run it this way, but removing the lock out doesn't hurt anyone and only benefits those who do want to move on to see the newer content, even if it is harder than the previous. Realistically the only thing barring people from completing content is the level of itemization they have. Turn 5 does drop high level gear, but it isn't enough to make or break progression if someone could just go to turn 6. Right now the lock out is mostly being used by the developers to try and keep people playing their game longer by forcing people to complete older content instead of seeing the newer content that other people are on. This kind of strategy is going to start dividing the community up and exacerbate the haves vs have-nots teeth grinding that inevitably leads to many of these colorful posts.

It makes no sense. Why is it so hard for you to understand that complaining about T6 being locked behind T5 is just as stupid as complaining about T2 being locked behind T1? Why should it matter if one is part of another patch? It's an increasing scale of difficulty and a progression of the same story line. If you haven't proved yourself in the earlier turn in terms of skill, you have no right to the later ones.
Coil 1 is slowly being nerfed as Echo gets introduced and players are gearing up with Soldiery. The Coil 2 lockout isn't going to matter in a few weeks. I think SE did a great job by giving expert players immediate access to the new content at a higher difficulty while letting the more casual players trickle in as their gear gets better.

You're right that it doesn't make sense from a progression standpoint, but it does make sense from an empathetic one. Are you saying it's better that people keep gnashing teeth continuously on the message board than to just open up the area and let people try it out without progressing through turn 5? Because ultimately that is what this is turning into. What are people trying to defend?

The small amount of integrity that the game has left. You think people that "have the ability" yet can't clear Turn 5 due to "time constraints" should have a shot in Turn 6, but for what purpose? Simply to see how much harder it is, and how much smaller their chances are of completing it? If they weren't happy about being stuck on Turn 5, how do you think they'll feel about Turn 6? Where should it end? All BC turns and primals immediately selectable when they get released?
