So I'm not bothered with this lockout.
Most games I've played, when they release a new tier of raids don't require the previous set in order to allow for people who have fallen behind to catch up. This is important because it becomes very difficult to find groups for the older content.
I found it incredibly difficult to unlock leviathan due to the gating mechanisms they have in place. The difficulty wasn't in clearing the primals, the difficulty was in finding groups - generally taking 1 to 1.5 hours to get a group together. Getting through all 3 primals became a major endeavor because of the time sink in forming parties and the high failure rate of said parties.
In some ways, the gating is good for me right now because it makes Leviathan Ex pugs have a pretty good success rate, but on the other hand it puts up a steep barrier of entry beyond the actual clearing of the prior primals.
Questing is like participating in an Old Spice Commercial - Talk to me, talk to him, talk to me, talk to him, Now Talk To Me...Sadly, you are not done, back to him, look there, its that mob I never liked, back to me, back to him...I'm in the Waking Sands.

I suppose a lot of people are used to the way Blizzard makes its content free standing with every patch, its no mystery there are a lot of ex WoW players playing this game.
It makes sense for it to be locked behind progression, but at the same time it is locking out a lot of people from new content.
WoW does do something similar, you are requried to complete the previous raid before attempting the next one but only through the LFR finder, if you make a premade you can do whatever you like as long as your ilvl is high enough.

they aren't locked out. they just haven't gotten to the point of being ready to try it. the ones that cannot complete t5 even with the echo buff have absolutely zero shot at turn6. there's a bunch of skill needed to be gained and experience as a group before they can even think of trying it. this is like complaining they should be able to enter endgame at level 30 and being mad they have to reach level 50 first. there is that much of a jump from t5-t6.

And I guess thats part of the problem, this patch has been pretty much focused on hardcore content outside Atma which most people hate because its a different kind of hardcore.they aren't locked out. they just haven't gotten to the point of being ready to try it. the ones that cannot complete t5 even with the echo buff have absolutely zero shot at turn6. there's a bunch of skill needed to be gained and experience as a group before they can even think of trying it. this is like complaining they should be able to enter endgame at level 30 and being mad they have to reach level 50 first. there is that much of a jump from t5-t6.
2.3 will bring more casual content in the form of CT but until then most casuals don't have a great deal to look forward to.
If you look at how Blizzard put out their content in a patch they have a wide variety of content regardless of experience level and I think people expect the same here, obviously thats not going to happen because SE don't have the money, time and staff to meet those expectations.
I don't' think its so much level 30 wanting to jump straight to 50 as more than "what about us".
Because there is no CT there is no medium level end game, just really easy or really hard.
I'm willing to bet that come 2.3 it will be the other way round, hardcore players will be complaining because the new content is too easy and they are bored of Coil 2.

I'm so angry at Konami, all I want to do is play the second stage of Contra but they make me clear the first stage first! My life is impossible torture.

Uh... are you trying to troll or are you proposing a strawman argument.
Contra doesn't ask for a 15 dollar sub that promises access to the game content that gets released. Stage 1-5 of Bahamuts coil is like a game onto itself so it would be more accurate to say you couldn't play Megaman X5 without beating Megaman X4.

You have access to the game's content, you just gotta unlock it nothing is stopping you but you. Also a truism of every game ever. If you want to keep your analogy (which is flawed) it's like asking to fight the hardest bosses as soon as you unbox a game.

How are people who haven't beaten twintania yet expect to beat Turn 6? lol
