Chocobo Training Parties?

Hey guys! For the past couple of days, for about a few hours each day, I've been hosting a Chocobo Training Party in Castrum Occidens, but no one has really turned up.

Is there a better way to train chocobos that I'm not aware of? If so, I'd like to know! I wanna get my Chocobo to Rank 10 both to act as a very potent healer as well as to unlock the Chocobo Suit. Finally, if having a Rank 10 chocobo helps things along in 2.4 when Chocobo Breeding is introduced, I wanna be ready right out of the gates.

Chocobo leveling isnt popular because from what ppl say its not worth, they are crappy healers, crappy tanks and crappy dps, but a popular spot for that and spiritbond is near quarrymill, @ urth's gift.

Bah, when playing solo, they're pretty decent! Choco Regen is especially nice for solo play! Besides, who doesn't want that Chocobo Suit?

Thanks for the advice! I'll try to advertise Urth's Gift next time! I always figured Occidens was a better spot since it's so close to Wineport.

Yeah, Urth's gift is nice since you can gather up all the sprites and such, LoS them to clump them together and aoe them down.

Not for nothing, but leveling chocobos just seems pointless and is so tediously slow that most people don't bother with it. Especially because there are so many restrictions.

It's new that you can mount your Chocobo while it's out, ride around, dismount, and not dismiss it. It used to be that riding it or having it out as a combat companion were mutually exclusive.

Maybe if you could queue in the Duty Finder with your chocobo companion out, more people would give a damn. But even then, for what it's worth, if you're sporting an i90 combat class, a chocobo companion contributes nothing worthwhile.

I don't believe chocobo training is completely useless. A tank chocobo is very nice to have if you're leveling a new battle class or need to do a fate in an empty zone.

Crappy tanks? I had my chocobo hold boss hate from the Sharknado fate the entire time and there was an atma party with all dps wailing on it and it still held the hate till the boss died. I laughed and petted my chocobo for doing a good job. its only lvl 3 btw in the defender tree.

@OP: yeah got to urths gift in south shroud and kill the lvl 50 sprites. Its best if you have a white mage for holy spam or a black mage for fire 2 and flares. Also eat some food for that 3% exp buff.

It'd be nice if your chocobo's level was based on your item level rather than character level. Run around doing FATEs with a level 90 chocobro

It just so happens that today, when I bring up this thread, like an hour later, I got the Sleipnir Barding for my Chocobo, so that fuels my passion even more (pardon the pun) to level my Chocobo to Rank 10. Even if it's not worth it combat-wise.
