There's a difference. Jennestia/Xatsh is being constructive and trying to show a point of reference for the developers to improve the game.
It appears to me, (as someone who's only casually looking over this exchange) that Cichy simply points out every little flaw (s)he can find without offering any points for improvement.
If you rewatch the movie its actually the pugilist that jumping its the siesmic shock or whatever move they have that makes them jump the jumper is wearing claws ^^ easy mistake tho camera POV almost at a spin atm
We all know they're working on the "core" but I am wondering what's going on with the graphics. Most of the players are under the impression that they have been working on some big content to combat the bland visual design. I'd like to believe that too but there's just no facts to prove the case either way so all we can do is wait.Gift, you seem to question what the dev's are working on. I think its pretty obvious as the developers try to get to the core of what is wrong they are continually finding more problems. Yoshi seems to be confident these next 3 patches will resolve most of the system limitations right from the most basic transaction level interactions.
When they say that cross world party search and linkshell actions are something that will take time because of system limitations they are talking about these issues at the core of the game. Once the core issues are solved patches and fixes should come in at a much faster pace.
I think we will all be pleasantly surprised with 1.18,1.19, and 1.20. And I fully intend to re-invite all my LS mates who have since taken a break from the game this fall. If SE can deliver what was stated in the last few producer letters by the end of summer (or end of sept.) then I think the game will be in a great shape to start prepping for a firm PS3 launch date.
I'd like to know there's more visual interest to these areas than a round door but as it is I think we'll have to wait for a long while to see some FF-worthy imagination in this game.
I hope there's a XIV equivalent of Thunder Plains, Shinra building, Balamb Garden or Sea of Sand or the Lifa Tree, the pillar on Pulse or the home of the Star Sybil. Something unforgettably imaginative. Zanarkand was a 10-minute game-play section but still the architecture and the atmosphere of that place was really memorable.
Even if it's a quick concept sketch... no scratch that; btw when it comes to previous FF titles there is no such thing as a quick concept sketch have you heard of the team Kusanagi?

That kind of design takes days of hard work to pull off well.
Anyway even as a concept image I'd love for them to show that the art team is working on something memorable.
I'd really want them to contract the members of Kusanagi to do work for XIV as they've been a big part of the imaginative visuals of FF titles ever since FFVII.
I think redesigns to zones won't be till summer 2012/2013 to be honest, considering the battle system alone is most likely going to take till oct/nov. That's if indeed they decide to go ahead with a big redesign or just add new zones and expansions with richer designs. A zone like thunder plains would be fantastic, as would zones with environmental mini-games. Lightning dodging lalafells ftw!
Guys keep this post about the dungeon not about redesigning zones or graphics etc... there are other topics for that
Taking bets on how long before 8 THMs manage to take down the Ahriman mob with barbs!
whoa! this looks good. The awesomesauce is almost ripe for the dipping
Can't wait to run down there with my friends, cuss em out for an hour, then buy everyone a pizza when its all done. mmm sweet victory/death pie
also, is my eyesight going bad or is there some awesome 80's robot opening the gate @1:20?
It's a rune. When party clears area or completes area objective, the rune opens the next area. Some runes might not ask party to kill everything. But kill certain enemies. Meaning you won't have to kill everything to get to the next area. But yea, 1:20 was just a stationary rune. Doesn't move, those blue holographic circles you keep seeing in the video? The rune is in the middle of them.whoa! this looks good. The awesomesauce is almost ripe for the dipping

You seem pretty firm in your convictions considering we have no information on them whatsoever. You're right that it does open the door, but we don't know anything about the conditions, nor that they're called 'runes'.It's a rune. Spreading misinformation to sound informative really doesn't help the community, to be honest.
