does anyone use WTFast?

I have a 50-60% improvement in latency reduction with WTFast from 180ms to 100-110. I wouldn't play the game without it. This is with the basic model (free)



Sometimes it says "no connection improvement" (it does this randomly and then shows numbers every now and then) but as you can see from the stats, the improvement is there. I have to check that warning though. My settings should be ok, i think. If i can get sub 100ms with paid sub, i might consider.

Wanted to tag on to this. I use WTFast and I pay for it, I use a wireless connection and with WTFast I go very smooth. I see al the beauty of my great axe swinging in the air to the sad face I create and the tears that flood on the ground after failing that 4 star synth.

No, why would it? It's not affecting anything other than your connection from you to the data center.

how do I check my ping to ffxiv servers? I play on Cactuar if this help.

1. Open task manager (ctrl+shift+escape, or right click on task bar then "Start Task Manager")
2. Go to the "Performance" tab and click on "Resource Manager"
3. Go to the "Network" tab, then click on "TCP connections"
4. Locate your FFXIV game file (can't remember the exact name atm), should be 2, one is client, one is game
5. Look at the right end of the list, you should see "Latency (ms)", that's your ping

We tested this out with Battleping rather than WTFast, but found that the reduction in ping that you see in Resource Monitor is because you're now getting a ping response from the local VPN endpoint rather than the game server, making it meaningless. Assuming WTFast works the same way, which it probably does, the reduction is likely to be significantly overrated by this method, and given that FFXIV doesn't report ping itself, it's rather difficult to confirm anything.

Port doesnt matter unless something on your PC like a programme is blocking the default one. I did change mine to 443 tho because i know nothing uses those low ports on my PC or network.
