There is no reasonable argument for luck playing so large a part for such a minor part of this questline. Using gated content is nowhere near a viable excuse for justifying Skinner Box approaches like this.

I just re-subbed to the game after a few-month break. Just today I found out about atma farming to upgrade your relic weapons. It didn't seem so bad at first, but after farming for hours and getting nothing, I'm going to go ahead and say that it's bullsh*t.

There's no reason I should have to run level 5 FATEs all day for an extremely minor chance at an item that I need 12 of, just to upgrade my weapon. Who thought this was a good idea? I'm not even complaining about it due to lack of time. I can play all day every day. I'm complaining about it because it's just time-wasting bullsh*t.

To be quite honest we need that in this game, in fact there not enough of it. I may not like the approach of it all, but at least it's giving me something to do, and the best part is, I don't see the whole server having these zodiacs. In the end they will up the drop rate I'm sure.

In game or not is irrelevant. We all have 24 hours in a day, and spend our free time as we choose. You are telling me that you have no better way to spend your free time IRL or in game than grinding low level fates on Final Fantasy until your eyes bleed...?

Take off the Tryhard glasses and your vision should be clearer. Also, no one in these threads have come anywhere near wanting things "handed to them" (that meme gives you away instantly as an "I've got mine" poster).

I didn't say it was unfair. I said it was an overly-obnoxious time sink.

FATE grinding is by far the most undesirable thing I can imagine wasting my time doing in this game. I'd rather fight Ifrit Ex 100 times than farm FATEs for a week.
