QFTI think RNG is what makes an mmorpg fun. Running dungeons loads of times to get that one drop you want so much is so much fun. There should be more things like rare spawns with low drop rate vanity items and stuff. So no I don't think RNG ruins the game it makes it exciting.

The moment when you finally get your item to drop after several attempts.

I don't know; I'm really not trying to argue, and I definitely don't intend on sounding mean or snarky, but I feel like every single mmo I have played has plenty of content just like this. Difficult to get due to low drop chance, takes a long time, not everyone has a chance to get it. I really don't get it -- RNG doesn't hold a sense of fairness and compassion. It's not intended to. It absolutely sucks when people get super lucky streaks, yea. But that's the double edged sword of this system. And to be honest, games really need things like this. Yes, it absolutely can be improved! But that is an issue with FATEs, and not RNG.
This kind of content isn't meant for everyone to pewpewgotit, that will burn most people out.
If the RNG were more evenly distributed, we wouldn't see this kind of crap. With gathering or crafting I can live with this as it only affects myself, but within a group this becomes unfair. The "it's a MMO" argument doesn't cut it, everyone should have the same chances and it should be skill not an unfair RNG that decides progress. Slow progress is not the real problem, highly uneven progress because the RNG allows for improbable lucky streaks is a problem.I don't know; I'm really not trying to argue, and I definitely don't intend on sounding mean or snarky, but I feel like every single mmo I have played has plenty of content just like this. Although I agree that this is what MMOs are about, ie farming gear which is part of a huge loot table and you have multiple other choices and paths to go, That is fine.I think RNG is what makes an mmorpg fun. However it is bad design to make a quest reliant on RNG because it means people can't actually complete it within a realistic time frame, for some its easy for some it is not, for some it could be near impossible, this is a quest remember not some RNG drop from a dungeon or boss. (people are just asking for fairness)
Grindy is fine, RNG however is a big problem for some people, myself included, it is possible to have grind without randomness, luck and chance don't really bring anything to the table other than to those who are overly self inflated and feel the need to show off.

Where were you a few months ago when people on the forums complained that they wanted more grindy open world content?
Why complainin about something beein unfair when devs themselves expect that NOT EVERYONE will be rewarded ?
Do you guys even read between the lines ? I mean get over it, you got nerfed coils + Leviathan extreme for your weapon, or Turn 7's tomestone coupled with 3 weeks of soldiery savings.
If you really really want that badly your atma just ... you know ... work for it, like others do in the other content !
Way to implement failed argument #2, you clearly read my original post. Why complainin about something beein unfair when devs themselves expect that NOT EVERYONE will be rewarded ?

Also, I wish I could work for it like others. Unfortunately, everyone has to work for it in their own personal universe of random chance. If my ATMAs take me 500 hours to farm and your take 14, did we work for it the same?
Guess what?
All the new weapons and highest level gear require RNG.
Want a new weathered weapon? Need unidentified tomestones
Want a new allagan weapon? Pray it drops for you
Want a Leviathan 100 weapon? Wait for the token to drop and you get the lot.
Want a original Turn 5 weapon? RNG as well!
You can't escape the RNG it permeats the world and people need to accept this.
