RNG is ruining this game (ATMA QQ post)

i agree with the OP, not in terms of what he is complaining about though, more on the crafting side

three consecutive crafts at 98%, and NQ all of them

41% success rate with affixing materia, 1/14 attempts on affixing that one materia

the RNG is complete garbage and SE needs to do something about it, i know its server side and it kinda explains why some people can be "more lucky" than others, but when you're totally screwing over the same people because of a shitty rng, it needs to be fixed

btw, i also dub it the RFG (random f**kyou generator), because its what SE is good at

try harder im 2 atma weapons now as i changed main jobs, if its taking a long time take a little break its really not that bad

RNG sucks balls in this game. So does RNG rolls in same said game. 46 runs of coil 1 for tank body with two seen drops and rolls of 2 and.. 3. Atmas are just as bad.. up to 16 hours now in Outer La Noscea with no drops yet. I have one atma completed so I figured I'd get the one that took 3 hours the last time out of the way.

I think the best counterargument to this whole thing is the obvious. If you know that there are better stuff out there, and you know that this is purely for preparation of the next patch, you should also realize that you have a lot of time to do it before that. Most complaints are coming from people who are spending many hours a day on it. Of course you're gonna get irritated and burn yourself out doing it. You don't have to do things immediately just because it's there. Self control.

On the point of RNG being "unfair" though... what!? I hope that was merely a passing thought referring to state-of-mind rather than an actual statement about the system.

People play games to have fun, they don't play them to sit around waiting or make up excuses to read books.

You're playing an MMORPG. An Asian one at that. Long, and typically boring, grind sessions are the name of the game.

RNG is RNG, you win some you lose some. I laugh at people saying how "rng sucks in this game" as if randomization is different in other games. It's all wishful thinking to think otherwise. Ok, it can be slightly different due to computers never being "truly" random, but you'd have to go through such a large pool to see a pattern.

Personally I don't mind it, and heck it's awesome when the RNG gods smile upon you and you get a HQ from a 5% item.
