I believe that was Cactuar Jack, I also miss those nms.

Its a shame they did away with mob AI and just gave them lackluster patterns and forgettable tp moves. I like smart mobs, as it stands right now they are mostly just a joke, even bosses.

Ya...Cactuar Jack. First time I saw that ability is when I am passing by, looking for a claim. Someone else claim it before me. Stood there and watch the fight. Still remember it jumped up in the air and went SSJ. The next moment I'm dead. (>_>

FFXI has a (relatively recent) cactuar NM called Cujiatender that does "??? Needles." I took around 85,000 damage from that once.

Oh man the mandies. Nothing like a whole party carefully pulling (while being on high alert)... that one tiny cute plantling.

They actually had a policy of no survivors left behind, that's why if someone zoned they would camp the zone itself.

Leveling in Garlaige Citadel, dodging holes in the ground. Oh you fell in? Prepare to be destroyed by mobs higher than the entrance mobs.

FFXI sounds cool in a more dangerous way. I wouldn't mind some scary mobs roaming.

Marlboros I find are the only scary trash mob (in ARR) due to "Bad Breath".

I for one am glad a mob that drops a farmable crafting material needed in huge quantities doesn't have an area-sleep attack.
