Angry PS4 constant 90k and lag please help.

I upgraded to PS4 before and can't play the game at all. I last 5 minutes before I 90k. I had no problems on PS3. I need a fix because I can't go back to my PS3 that worked fine because of how the upgrade system works.

welcome to the world of 90k's. happens to both accts/computers in my house consistently, as well as many other players in my fc. SE admits there is a problem but has no clue where to start with a fix as of yet so per se's comments to me on my tickets "just work through it"

This is bullshit I can't play the game at all. How can they let you upgrade to something that doesn't work. I can't even go back to play it on my PS3.

At the time of this posting, the UK is still having issues with the PSN Network in general... NA is off and on. May want to check the status at down detector when you are having issues just to rule that out:
    http://downdetector.com/status/playstation-network
    http://downdetector.com/status/playstation-network/map

If you can rule out a PSN problem, and it isn't the known issues with instanced content SE has been posting about and trying to address with the maintenances over the last month or so, than it may simply be a problem with congestion or other transit problems along your route that your ISP needs to address. Such problems in routing can and may still affect you even after PSN fixes their stuff and SE finally fixes their instance server issues---so this may be well worth investigating.

Net usage in general is all over the map, and congestion issues are running rampant at different times of day. Can get a rough idea of it for your region at Akamai's statistics pages:
    http://www.akamai.com/html/technology/dataviz1.html

This page has options to filter by industry and/or region to narrow the focus a bit more (notice the wide variance in traffic in the graphs at the bottom):
    http://www.akamai.com/html/technolog...try/index.html

The point is, there are known congestion/transit issues in routes for various industries and regions that the ISP's need to address. Yes.. I am saying that you may need to lean on your ISP if you can find signs of issues along your route. Ultimately, you would want to run tracerts to your server to test for wide fluctuations in response times along your route (or timeouts). If you are up to the task, but don't know your specific IP address, you can test against the ones posted at ARR Status for your server (you may use a different one, but it will be the same subnet on SE's network... Canada will be 199.91.189.xxx and JP will be 124.150.xxx.xxx). These maps/graphs are just some simple ways to visualize it for those that aren't really into testing against this sort of thing. That downdetector site tracks a lot of services... you might even be able to find some comments/graphs on your service provider on their companies page:
    http://downdetector.com/companies

Here is a map for my ISP (TWC): http://downdetector.com/status/time-warner-cable/map/

It's the usual areas having issues for my ISP right now... LA, Chicago, New York, Raleigh, and several major hubs in Ohio.

Again, if you suspect you are having issues in your region, this should be tested more directly by running some tracerts to the SE game servers to check for big fluctuations in response times (or timeouts) at hops between you and Ormuco (SE's ISP). It also helps if you can spot similar issues to other services like google, netflix, yahoo, etc. (more incentive for your ISP to step up to the plate). If you don't feel comfortable doing it, your ISP can do it on your behalf--but you need to at least give them an IP to test against for XIV and you will need to be dealing with Tier3 support, not the help desk (sometimes you fair better asking for help in your ISP's support forums or via their Twitter feed if you Tweet). You can get a generally close IP from the ARR Status pages for your server. You may actually use something different, but it will be in the same subnet. The hops at SE's end will start with 199 for Canada or 124 for Japan.

If congestion/transit problems exist at a hop not managed by Ormuco, JP-NIC, or SE than it will fall to a third party to address. If that isn't a PSN related issue, this will be your ISP or one of their routing partners--which means you need to bring in your ISP's Tier3 people to address it (not the ones that answer the phone, those are Tier1). Your ISP has entered into agreements with these 3rd parties in order to carry your data off their network and over to other people's networks like Netflix, Sony, Ormuco, and Square-Enix. Without such agreements, you wouldn't be able to even get to Google unless Google was your ISP--which means no emails to other ISP's customers, no Netflix, and certainly no online-gaming with Blizzard, SE, etc. It falls to your ISP to address such issues with routing through these third parties--not SE.

And before anyone cries BS on this process... it can and DOES work. Though, you may need to be pretty persistent with it. I have gone through this multiple times with Time Warner over the years, with different games dating all the way back to Freespace, Total Annihilation, and the first Diablo. Had to do it twice for XI... and both times it was an issue under Verizon's care. For XIV, it was Cognetco, then TATA, then Level3 (they moved me all over the place trying to address it). The trick is always in identifying where your problem truly lies, so you can bring in the right people to investigate.

Very informative Raist. I just think the main thing is that since upgrading from the PS3 to PS4 we all have been noticing this happening whereas it did not on the PS3 pretty much seldom ( at least I did not notice this ). Though I did utilize your advice and checked the down detector seems that Comcast has been having some troubles since the morning. So perhaps I should just wait this one out and see if it's mainly going to be on Comcast's end or Square's

yeah.. I think we're getting hit on multiple fronts right now. Had some big releases hit the markets, a lot of people cutting the cable cord and moving to streaming (Netflix has been fighting with several ISP's over throttling)--and XIV is getting another run of new/returning players right in the middle of restructuring it's network, and PS4 is gaining market share too and increasing their PSN load.

It all adds up to a fine mess in the US in general. Companies have waited way too long to upgrade equipment, and it's biting us in the butt now. I actually did some heavy digging a few weeks back over issues at my head end and we discovered my CMTS is hardware that dates back to 2001... and wasn't even fully DOCSIS 2.0 compliant. TWC is rolling out 3.0 level connections on hardware that is a decade or more out of date. BRILLIANT!

Yeah I figured once the Early access started that it was going to be heavy, but now that I'm taking a look at everything else it seems pretty much everything was suffering. Trying up warframe now and it's just stuck on loading; BF4 last night was just plain awful and the Playroom has been loading slower than normal. So maybe I could just chalk it up to it being the weekend as well. Most of all I'm just going to keep my eyes set on the downdetector especially the comments.

Alright so after further extensive testing I see that the problem in this case will be in Sony's case and PSN not so much my internet provider /snaps fingers/ Would have loved to blame them. So I think PSN is perhaps having a lot of fighting right now due to the weekend, people logging in and streaming.

I recently upgraded as well and the game has been completely unplayable for me. Constant lag, 90k and 2002 errors. My wife raids with me on PC, and experienced no lag. It doesn't seem to be an ISP issue. Hours before I upgraded I was on PS3 playing with no issues at all.

Something I did notice is that on wireless I was losing a lot more ( I know not a shock to some! ) but when it worked well on the PS3 and not so much on the PS4 I took it upon myself to pretty much directly connect it to the modem. That kind of helped it, at least from what I can tell right now. I did also chat with a Sony rep online and over the phone to do some troubleshooting, rebuilt the database and all. I don't know if that helped or not or if I just needed it directly plugged into the modem. I guess by the time I get into Copper mines I'll know. Since so far I'm able to spring everywhere now whereas before it would not show my character doing so.

    [Edit]
Went through the entire length of Copper Bell and NO lag or disconnect! Though this was only one trial run but so far I think it acted better than normally. I'm wondering if the PS4 version just needs something more to be able to run effectively. At least in comparison to the PS3 version.
