well reading what they said about bugs, and itertations, that may have in fact been the big issue. Some sources suggest that the engine they used to make the game wasnt in its final build till like 2009, if so, most of the game was built in pieces, and while they may have had a long time to plan, and a long time to create assets like animations, charachters models etc, they didnt probably didnt have a lot of time to test, or do iterations.

The people upstairs probably figured they could build it as they went, and adjust it, which theoretically might have worked, IF they had not billed it as a full release, AND they had actually done rapid updates.

one of the big issues is, if you want to start with a super rough game and form it to perfection you have to you know actually make big fixes and changes in fast time periods. I dunno whats going on, but this is one of the slowest bug fix/development cycles i ve seen in a long time.

This game's issues come down to design and general lack of polish. The latter more-so than the former.

It's also the first game ever to attempt something like this. hey, maybe there's a correlation!

its actually not. CO went through a big f2p conversion recently, took them 6 months, the truth is the drastic reworking... is not really drastic reworking, cosmetically anyhow. I cant speak for what they may have had to do with the behind the scenes code, but juggling abilities, and altering the way some function and adding auto attack are not that deep, its not a years worth of development.

Aside from that they have done nothing, and thats also weird since they already had a decent amount of things done before they even released that have yet to be added, and even more planned. (look at old databases that were leaked that they had to take down)

Its pretty slow, speaking strictly in terms of results. Also dont blame the changing teams, games change directors, producers etc, all the time and they keep on trucking, once again look at CO.

Fact is, this pace of changes is slow, even straight building from the ground up, they have games that show more progress in alpha form.

look its pretty common that people will take assets from a different game, tweak them use a different engine, add content and rebuild the whole entire game in less time, look any number of portable conversions.

Its just slow man. I know you like defending them, but slow is slow. maybe they ll get faster, in fact i hope they do, but yeah this is slow.

Yet you don't even know what the results are.

It's pretty clear at this point that they were working on the background for at least half a year before putting out everything they've developed in a short timespan. Everything they say supports this.

So your "results" are bullshit until we see what they have managed to do. 1.18 is the start of it and who knows how many patches are needed to implement everything. The point is, though, that if they implement a years worth of fixes in a span of 6 months, their over-all pace is not "slow".

This may not be the case ,but the fact- the fact is that you nor I do not know what will happen. But what we do know is that this is not bullshit. They haven't given us their everything, and now they attempt to do so.

So sit back and let it unfold.

I think this might have been SE's stance on it too but as they peeled away the layers they saw the core was rotten which might have changed there thought process on how to go about updating/changing the system. As soon as they came to the conclusion that a new core was needed the fixes were always going to be slow. Hopefully (crosses fingers) once the bulk of the major changes are done so lets say 1.18 / 1.19 / 1.20 they might start releasing things faster.

Then again this is SE so anything could happen.
