    That's because the "heavy" effect inflicted by being hit from behind is different from the casted spell version. The spell version of monster heavy is subject to diminishing returns.

    That's because most, if not all, of the attacks that hit you are ranged. They can't melee you from a distance.

    But yeah, I agree it's annoying when you can't just charge into a beastman stronghold solo past 50 mobs while being impervious to any and all of their attacks. They shouldn't even fight back because we can just kill them so easily!

    I agree that heavy is nothing more than a nuisance. My way of counteracting it to always be on WHM when travelling. This way I dismount, Esuna myself, then sprint till I lose the mob and then remount.

    They should just rerename this version of Heavy back to Lame so people will realize it's not the same thing. Though they'd then have to add back where dismounting removes it.

    Six of one, half dozen of the other. It would still be a pointless debuff regardless of the name and whom it affects. The only positive to switching it back to 1.0 style would be that any class/job could simply hop off their mount and remove it.

    For those who are in favor of keeping it, what are your reasons behind it?

    I made a thread about this a while ago. I definitely agree, it's terrible.

    The worst part is when you get it and you're just like 'Man, I guess I'll ride it out until it wears off...'
    10 seconds later, another mob hits you, heavy is reapplied resetting the timer

    PLEASE!!!! Remove heavy soon! I don't understand why enemies we cast on have diminishing returns but enemies that cast on us do not.

    I do them all the time, I still don't see your issue, I can avoid pretty much all agro if I actually use my eyes and survey my suroundings instead of burying my head into my map display.

    the few Sylphs that are hard to avoid agro can also be easilly outrun long before you get the heavy debuff, it's not the first hit that applies the debuff.
