hm.......... intersting..
Dance like you mean it !
this will only add
DON'T STAND IN THE FIRE! WoW like add-on. kidding.
ummm.... they do have similar stuff in ff11. Do you know how a pain those are.... fun game yes
tedious game NO.
really why do ppl mix up challenge and tedious?
P.Tor mt climb was fun in my books (although having to climb it time and time again was tedious)
Either
A) Make it were once we climb it we can "memorize" the path and just instance our selves to the top upon completion of first climb (rinse and repeat this idea with other things other than climbs mts)
B) Make things like this part of the story/quests where once they are done they are done (if it is to be tedious)
Agree with OP, the game needs more enviroment interaction, in several ways. If they are really adding jump feature, they need to put also some gameplay elements about it (in field areas and dungeons).
These ideas sort of fall in line with the environment and exploring so I thought I would include them.
Collections
Random items that drop from monsters or randomly appear on the ground as sparklies/and or chests. Several different type of things could occur including dropping treasure map pieces, mog house items, gil, beastcoins, etc.
Treasure Hunting
Gathering say.. 10 map fragments puts together a treasure map! Then you can go hunting for treasure!
The Twelve Shrines
Several games have utilized their dieties for buffs in the form of shrines. Oblivion being one of them if I remember correctly. It would be kind of unique and fun to have certain shrines (with limits of course) that you could collect a buff on to help you fight mobs/quest/etc that would only be available in the zone you are in.
Jumping Exploration
Being able to get to some areas just by the jump or a climb feature alone would add a lot of creativity and uniqueness to the environment. Imagine being able to climb a tree just to climb a tree, or jumping your way across stones on a pond to get to an island in the middle.
I like them. I made also a similar topic about 'collectables' while ago:These ideas sort of fall in line with the environment and exploring so I thought I would include them.
