RolePlay Ideas - new rp fc

    Hello!

Although, i have never actually have a Roleplay guild in any MMO, i have role-played in forums and other games.
So i am trying to take my FC in a new direction and involve RP.
Could any players give me some ideas on how to do this, and what to do? Perhaps any events or things you do in your own RP guild?
I just need a little guidance with this. Any advice would be great!

    I greatly appreciate it.
    Thank you!

    Hi!

I don't have too much experience here but I think I can help you out a little. Firstly, I would look into having a theme. Do you want to follow the lore of the game? Your own lore you make up? If you have RP'd elsewhere, you should have a good idea of what the conventions are (using /s, quotations etc). Since you have an existing FC with other goals, I would recommend making a separate LS for RP events. Invite anyone who is interested. This helps keep the chat less spammy for members who aren't interested and generally keeps it organized. Write out your scenarios beforehand, use as much detail as you deem necessary. Hope this helps!

The trick to get RP going is to keep it open to anyone who'd like to join in events.

Take for example, doing a dungeon RP, just ask in your FC if anyone would like to join, and if you get a full group, go ahead and do it.

You're in the middle of mining/botany, suddenly you were attacked by a group of monsters and wounded severely, you call out of your linkpearl for your FC to come and rescue you.

It's bottomless nacho night at the Drowning Wench! Gather some of your FC members, drink, eat, and exchange stories!

Just remember: keep it open. RP most often doesn't revolve around structured plots and stories, those are usually closed or very difficult to coordinate, so I'd wait to even attempt them until you've got a lot more experience and active roleplayers.

Also, setting up a forum for your members is VERY helpful, this allows them to post background stories or other things that stimulate roleplay. I recommend enjin for something like this.
