Garland >< Garlemald?

During the Court of the Sands starting main senario in Uldah, when first visiting the Goldsmiths guild, during the exchange with Niellefresne he talks about trade with Gridania and then says that it will prove all for naught if it comes to war with Garlemald.

Figured I'd stick that up here in case that should be Garland instead. I don't remember it being referred to as Garlemald before.

Garlemald is the place where Garleans are from I believe. I don't know about Garland? I always thought the Garleans were from Garlemald.

Zaviermhigo, you are correct.

Garlemald is the name of the country, and Garlean is its adjectival form.
(The Garlean Empire is located in Garlemald)

There is also an organization called the Garlond Ironworks that is mentioned in the Limsa Lominsa main scenario. But if I told you any more of this, I'd have to kill you (cue dramatic horn riff).

There isn't any mention of "Garland" in the game. This is "Garland": http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/G...nal_Fantasy%29

The only other thing that sounds close might be the "Garlond" in the "Garlond Goggles".

Dunno if English shows same but at port going to Limsa there is NPC Garland (in JP at least) LOL

It's just some guard with that name, nothing special though

There are sidequests (in all three countries) that involve rescuing members of the Garlond Ironworks from Garlean spies. Confusing I know. But if you want to get some of the lore without starting a new character I'd recommend doing those. I couldn't tell you the quest names though.

They are the quests asscoiated with getting to know the grand company in each city, if that helps.

Maybe that main villian near end of rank 45-50 Mission is another FF version of garland. ^^

It seem more of a Darkvaider Judge though. Still either way its cool.
