no... a power cycle of the system, as in a full shut off (not hibernate or a restart) and a "cold start". Was more a facetious comment... it used to be one of the first things Microsoft support asks.

Think there was a thread a couple weeks back where someone had found some malware on their system, and the problem went away after they cleaned it up. Could do a quick check of your installed programs list to see if anything there looks suspicious. You can go right to it by running the command "appwiz.cpl" from your search or run box.

You can also get a free malware scanner from www.malwarebytes.org to see if it finds anything. It's a pretty popular scanner... leading security groups (Symantec, McAfee, etc.) refer people to it all the time.
