Sounds like the MSIE components of the launcher have thrown up on themselves. Have you tried the usual Microsoft Mantra (full reboot of the system)?

Otherwise... could try a round of updates to your Java, Flash, etc. for your browser (particularly for MSIE, even if you don't use it). That fixed some issues with my launcher back during Beta4 when I was testing it in XP Pro.

So when you say full reboot of the system, do you mean pretty much a full re-install of the windows system? also i have updated everything on java, flash, etc and MSIE

no... a power cycle of the system, as in a full shut off (not hibernate or a restart) and a "cold start". Was more a facetious comment... it used to be one of the first things Microsoft support asks.

Think there was a thread a couple weeks back where someone had found some malware on their system, and the problem went away after they cleaned it up. Could do a quick check of your installed programs list to see if anything there looks suspicious. You can go right to it by running the command "appwiz.cpl" from your search or run box.

You can also get a free malware scanner from www.malwarebytes.org to see if it finds anything. It's a pretty popular scanner... leading security groups (Symantec, McAfee, etc.) refer people to it all the time.
