If both tanks know what they doing, and healers keep up heals than odds are u will win. (Garuda ex)
I did Titan EX last night as part of a PF title "Primal Focus" ofc I knew that was complete BS after checking gear ect. but none the less I still join as tank. first attempt got as far as Superbombs but 1 hear die and 1 dps, wipe.
2nd attempt made it to superbombs and die again. Normally I will dish any pt with misleading titles, as I'm sure this guys were not primal focus ready BUT they could dodge plums/LS so I knew they had clear potential, just needed bomb patterns. (1 healer die after GC from superbombs another wipe).

Anyways, I ended up staying till the 25% buff and clear it. the pt chat was spam with "OMG", "Finally" "YES" right after clear. with 4 people saying they will go practice Ifrit. in DF.
The moral of the story is that if you find a lucky group that makes it past Heart, dodging everything perfectly, with troubles in superbombs, odds are they have clear potential and is best to stick till the end. Normally I don't do this as I want an easy clear not waste my time but it does feel great when u see people celebrating with joy after finally clearing titan ex.

Hi, welcome to content that is moderately challenging. To put things in perspective, I would estimate there are currently 6 to 9 encounters more difficult than Garuda EX, and someone has beaten all of them. Also, there are 7-player groups that "sell" runs through all of the extreme primals where the buyer can just die right at the beginning and they consistently win with 7 people instead of 8.

It seems hard because your group (probably including you) isn't that good at it...yet. Practice, experiment, fail a lot, improve your gear & items, and stick with the same group of people so that you learn together. People that do this accomplish far more than those who do not.

If you can't/won't do the above, then get accustomed to there being some encounters which you just will not win. Those encounters are designed to keep the more accomplished players interested in the game.

There IS such a thing as an encounter that is too hard. See Twintania right after 2.0 release: it took a very long time for even 1 group to beat it, and SE nerfed it immediately after. Garuda EX is not on that level.

I was so not prepared. Gearwise, I am overgeared on my tank.... but jeebus, I was so not prepared. Almost everyone else in the group was new too, but I have not seen a pt fall like the first time I stepped into Twin last week.

On a side note, do you go for the Primal weapons after you complete the quest line for the Primal Ex's? I finally stopped being lazy and started the Primal Ex quests and downed Garuda today. I have been trying to shy away from raiding and force myself to take it easy, but the bug is constantly nibbling at the bit.

im going to do my best not to sound like a total dick here. Really people need to stop pointing blame, while yes tanks hold a very important slot in this fight it is not always their fault. playing from a tank and a melee dps standpoint its pretty obvious that each person in the party that has different things to watch for and execute properly, Tanks have to know position, melee need to not be derp ermahgerd spam buttons and know when to back the F*** up, healers have to have communication so one tank doesn't go without heals, and range dps need to know what a god damn spiny plume is and NOT aoe on it.

short end. you need to make sure you know your job and what you need to do. the rest need to do likewise and if PF isnt producing results i think its time you grow a little socially and have a ls or two and a solid active FC. pugs will only take you so far in this game.

    RE: Primals

I just Did a Pug group Garuda Ex successfully last night. The best way with a Pug group to ensure victory is LB one of the sisters. I know this is probably not a standard practice, but it guaranteed it. Then I finally Tried Titan EX, I don't think it can be done in the DF just yet. It takes a party willing to keep trying to the bitter end. Most people get mad immediately after a few attempts. If you can do Titan HM every time without dying, you will be able to pick up on Titan Ex. You have to practice and there's no better place than a Pug group. I do feel sorry for the the Uk people with their latency issues.

As far as titan EX, DF or PF doesn't matter. Everyone dies at post heart, because if you have one or two good dps and one healer, you can shamble along to heart phase and lose to earthen fury. It's exceedingly rare that you have everyone alive enough to break the heart, and then nobody knows what to do afterwards because they've never been there.
