    Class/Job Idea: Chemist > Time Mage / Geomancer

    So I decided to come up with a rough draft idea of what I'd like to see in FFXIV. Considering we have less healers/tanks than DPS, I figured a Arcanist-style Healer/Tank class would be interesting. Here's the details! (Posted on wordpress because this forum won't allow lots of text!)

    Opinions are welcomed (and perhaps we can fine tune this idea together!)

    There was speculation and old interviews/discussions about Geomancer becoming a real thing.

    CNJ uses the power of earth 'n' all that jazz.

    i was talking with my GF about the idea of chemist, and since it would be unrealistic to tie it to potions like in tactics it could be given moves like healing salve(cure) natures gift(esuna) poison dart(DoT type move) and bomb (for an AoE attack maybe) and life concoction(raise). but to keep balance with the game for every healer there would also have to be a tank. one idea i had that hasn't really been done that i know of is a engineer tank, it could have tank like armor or even mini magitek armor, or it could have a mini tank or magitek pet that does the tanking and when you call opon it it would literally build it on the spot if it were a pet. the other idea that would work is straight from 13, commando and medic, but i don't even want to get into those and medic seems like it would have to be like i described for chemist anyways.

    Why couldn't you tie Chemist to in-game items? Did you check out my link? There are several skills in there that utilize and improve the effects of items in various ways! Please check it out if you have time and give me your feedback.

    Just to be nitpicky about names, I don't think you would see chemist as a class. The jobs from previous final fantasy titles show up in ff14 as jobs, not classes.

    I like the idea of time mage, I mean seriously.. They can buff party members, debuff enemies, dps.. I think they might actually add that job. Imagine, they have the ability called "black hole" which is AoE dot that also has debuff effect (movement and attack speed reduction). "Lighting speed" good AoE buff that provides both attack and spell speed increase as well as CD reduction of base skills. Pretty good I say. Keep it coming guys.
