Coming from someone who works in customer service, if you don't get what you want we are suddenly bad people.
If you have a job, look at it this way: There are rules and procedures that have to be followed no matter what. This is not bad customer service. There is a reason that these things are in place.
Just because they can't do something, it doesn't mean that they are sitting there cackling at their desk because they ruined your day. It is because SOME RULE is stopping them from doing something.
I don't know what you think about yourself, but you don't seem to be special enough to be above the company's rules.
