    Levi extreme - MP issues?

    Hello all!

Despite being a WHM I never run out of MP, be it Turn 5 or Ifrit extreme, but when it comes to Levi Extreme I always run out of MP.

Despite using SoS carefully I always end up needing a ballad in the last phase of the fight.
I usually use Medica then medica 2 during the double tidal waves, and then I stoneskin the OT if the SCHs pet heals aren't enough.

Also, I have equiped some Sol gear, but the gear I replaced it with doesn't have PIE.

Is there anything wrong in my rotation? Are other WHMs having this issue or is it just me?

    Thanks.

Here is a link to my guide for the fight which is from my pov as a whm. I have never really noticed any mp issues but maybe compare what I'm doing in the vid with what you see yourself doing during the fight and see if you can isolate where you are burning the extra mana. It's also entirely possible that its because of the way the fight is being done as there are a few ways to smooth out the damage which is easier on whm mana.

Hihi! I guess I'll put in my two cents.
I've healed Levi for a bit now and I don't have mp issues per se. As a WHM I'm always pretty careless with my mp but Levi is a pretty easy fight to heal in general. I mostly spam regent and ss on ot and heal everyone else with med for tidal roars. For his huge aoe I cast a quick c3.
This leaves me not hurting for much mp as I'm doing little but efficient healing. It helps to always have a bard because during the water spume phase it can get a little challenging but I cast med 2 while our scholar casts sacred soil and again it's smooth sailing. Perhaps just try to limit the amount you heal and look for more efficient ways rather then just spamming to top everyone off? I guess I'd have to see you to say. Sorry if my suggestion didn't help.

Thanks for the video and tips. I just recently beat Leviathan EX but has cleared plenty as MNK/DRG/BLM/SMN and tanks don't seem challenging to learn so I'm trying to learn healers.

If your playing with a good scholar and he is healing the main tank you should never run into MP issues unless your over stoneskining. I say this because I realized two things during this fight.

    1. If the scholar keeps the main tanked topped off(which is easy because Lev hits like a wet napkin outside of one attack) the fairy will just automatically heal the offtank as he takes damage. When this is happening you only need to regen him and don't even bother with stoneskin.

    2. The off tank will never take spike damage outside of when hes on his physical damage add in this fight and if hes at around 50-75% of his HP he'll live comfortably until the next jump phase. During the jump phase the scholars fairy will pretty much have all the time in the world to autoheal that tank back up to full assuming the OT isn't getting hit by jumps.

So basically just save your MP for regens and AOE heals if your scholar knows what he is doing. The AOE healing isn't that hard in the fight since Tidal Roar comes at set points like after he shows back up after the railings collapse, after the first set of adds are dead, after the 2 spumes are taken care of, and during the start and end of the magical add.

I kind of fixed this issue by using medica 2 with no medica (1). I use to have around 5K~ MP with food but now I only have 4.5K MP with food.

Bards using Mages ballad during the charges really help.

My statics method is to LB3, not LB2 the water spheres so that can take a lot of MP especially if tied by double tidal wave (which shouldn't happen, but mistakes do occur).

I hardly ever drop below 3K MP but maybe i'm just being too careful.

    1. Remember to use Shroud of Saint when your mp are about 80% or below..
    2. cast regen on meeles when they took damage from tailswipe
    3. Use Divine seals on hard hit Tidal Roar

Seems like you are overhealing or dps is getting hit needlessly. WHMs I run with never run low on mp and I spend 95% of Lev Ex in Cleric Stance as a scholar.

Most likely not dividing roles between the sch and the whm...I don't know how you can get by with the stacks, if you can spam so much to get low MP.

The sch should be topping off MT and stoneskinning OT, with eos healing OT(if possible) aka, at most 1-2 stacks per turn, and even if racked up high, thier's still running-lustre in an emergency.

The whm should be strickly focused on medica2, Stonskinning OT (if there is time) and helping DPS that fall behind. Bascially almost all of the stacks come from medicas.

If both healers are stepping over each other, ya there might be mp problems down the line when things start going bad. But rarely do you have MP problems before stack problems...

Whm should have even less MP problems then the sch, because the whm should almost never have to worry about the MT, and only sometimes worry about the OT.

A clearing group, would not get hit enough that more then 2 medica per "phase" will have everyone topped for the next set.

A good whm in levi ex would know the exact times to start medica2, and only as a last resort should the sch succor to compensate for the healing requirement.

FYI, eos is king in levi ex, let her do the patch up work instead of going crazy on healing. (she can heal during dives and slams...so unfair)
