skill? why not start doing trying BC5(has echo and in the DF), Levi EX, or getting the weathered wep?
atma=zenith.. just a color, name, and ilvl change.
There are many other options for you and all of them take time to obtain.

Honestly I just don't do T5 and some EX because I can'tI'm not good enough yet. Sometimes they tell me things and idk wtf they're even talking about lol. Tried T5 and it didn't seem too hard, we got to 50% or so but DF is just people like me that wanna learn the fight mixed with elites that don't have a raid group and are assholes. Ive had raid groups but people don't have much love in this game and I can't stand dragging 7 FC friends down. If my party wipes I try and help and usually we can get it done even 3 bangin or when we don't know mechanics. Throw an elite asshole in and you can't get rhythm when they quit after 1 wipe

I knew this was going to make a pop up somewhere in this thread lol, if you don't want to teach and/or carry ppl every single moment you are logged in, you are an elitest. Well guess what, sometimes we just want to get our win and move on to other things just like you. Grow up dude.
Its an MMO, you are able to play and progress this game for literally years, there is no reason to QQ about something that takes hours, If you were a true ff fan that played xi you would be amazed at how easy these weapons are to get. And SE cant just design a game around your schedule or the handful of ppl who want to rage cause they have jobs and families that don't mix with their gaming addictions and will quit long before those of us you consider "elitest". Plus you have 3 months before next patch. That's ample time to get at least 1 zodiac done and then you have years after that to complete more.
My only qualm is that they put them as FATE drops and I find fates horrendously boring and lazy game design. My first set took me 50 hrs, but I did it, and Im doing it 3 more times for other weapons.
It's not just the elitist. Idc if an elitist is a team player. They're not. It's the others too, that can't do it. I've been running T5 and tried Titan just now. The elitists bully the bad players and the bad players quit out too. I'll never get where you guys equate being good to winning at this. Being really good is being able to go in with a noob party and direct the show. I guess it's hard to take charge if all you've ever done is supersized a big Mac meal thoughI knew this was going to make a pop up somewhere in this thread lol, if you don't want to teach and/or carry ppl every single moment you are logged in, you are an elitest. I got an atma after my first 15 minutes...
Didn't see one again for 6+ hours. I don't really care because I know at some point the drop rate will be upped. I just won't be the first person with the newest of the new shiny. I don't really care though, ill still have my sanity.
I see where u are coming from but I think the approach is wrong. You are breaking it down into mathematics that make it seam like its just an hours long slog. the ATMA farming part sucks. Everything else (the books) is essentially done by playing the game normally. its not going to take that long to kill the random mobs... a levequest here or there is a joke.. can be done in a few minutes. The FATEs are... meh. The dungeons give you tomes which you will use eventually to get a new book.
This is just ONE option for gearing up. I personally would rather dedicate the time to learning T5, passing it, and working on getting Burtgang. It is still luck based with drops, but at least were talking about doing fun, current content (and still getting geared through coil!)

Having the echo does not make you immune to death. you still have to learn the mechanics, as they one-shot ones are still one-shot. The echo only makes the fight shorter overall.
ATMA WEAPONS ARE NOT THE BEST WEAPONS FOR EVERY SINGLE CLASS
The truest statement that pretty much every single one of the QQers has yet to realize. Once you realize that you will see how silly and pointless your QQing is. You want the easy as hell and no skill required way to get higher level weps? go ahead, do ATMA quests. Want to better yourself and get good weapons without much time? DO LEVIATHAN! i95 wep to start (better than atma immediatly) and if you get lucky you can get a mirror to get an i100 weapon that is the SAME strength as a fully completed animus.
And to all the people who QQ that primals are too hard either A) dont want to learn the fight properly, or B) Dont care to push themselves.
tl;dr: Quit crying, man up, and try and get better at the game in different ways. if you dont want to do that then that is your fault and yours alone. SE is doing the right thing here by making atma a low drop rate.
I am Axle Ten, and i approve this message.
Well I disagree with the op. I have a family and full time job and the only reason that keeps me playing MMO's is that you have a game that can last years, that everything you do keeps adding and evolves all the time, last patch was really frustrating, because of all the weekly lockouts and besides the Binding Coil and Crystal tower there was nothing else worth to do, relics could be completed in a couple of days or in one day if you had the static and tombstones, so i ended up taking a break until patch 2.2. So no more content that can be zerged fast and easily. I do agree that if they're making time sinks at least be enjoyable and can be completed without depending to luck.
If you want to progress faster then do the BC or BC2 to upgrade your gear and weapons

Learning the mechanics of the EX and coil would take less time, and net better gear/weapons any day. Worse case scenario, if you can't be cutting edge, whatever your reason may be, SE will nerf it during the next patch making it easier to 'catch up' to the point of leading edge again.
The hardest part of ATMA is the grinding required for FATEs. After that, it's all baby cakes.
