If you add up all the atma books it's around 450 hours getting the atma stones in only 12 hours a set. That's 11 full work weeks lol

I got an atma after my first 15 minutes...
Didn't see one again for 6+ hours. I don't really care because I know at some point the drop rate will be upped. I just won't be the first person with the newest of the new shiny. I don't really care though, ill still have my sanity.
I see where u are coming from but I think the approach is wrong. You are breaking it down into mathematics that make it seam like its just an hours long slog. the ATMA farming part sucks. Everything else (the books) is essentially done by playing the game normally. its not going to take that long to kill the random mobs... a levequest here or there is a joke.. can be done in a few minutes. The FATEs are... meh. The dungeons give you tomes which you will use eventually to get a new book.
This is just ONE option for gearing up. I personally would rather dedicate the time to learning T5, passing it, and working on getting Burtgang. It is still luck based with drops, but at least were talking about doing fun, current content (and still getting geared through coil!)
MMO doesn't sound like your thing if you dread playing with others that much. You might not like echo but others, including me does. It helps people with less-than-optimal rotations push through phases easier and eventually beat it.They gave echo, I don't like that. Now you can just suck hard enough and beat it lol. Why not instead give the option of running with the scions? Make them like a real party so people can run with computer and get mechanics if they need to? I'd much rather that than an echo buff, I'd bet a lot of noobs would get better if they could have a npc learning party so there's only the option of you failing. Idk just what I think would help me
The thing about your idea is that people like to develop their own strategies instead of being shoe-horned into something. That's important in an MMO where everyone plays different roles and classes. What works for one might not work well for others.
Having the echo does not make you immune to death. you still have to learn the mechanics, as they one-shot ones are still one-shot. The echo only makes the fight shorter overall.
ATMA WEAPONS ARE NOT THE BEST WEAPONS FOR EVERY SINGLE CLASS
The truest statement that pretty much every single one of the QQers has yet to realize. Once you realize that you will see how silly and pointless your QQing is. You want the easy as hell and no skill required way to get higher level weps? go ahead, do ATMA quests. Want to better yourself and get good weapons without much time? DO LEVIATHAN! i95 wep to start (better than atma immediatly) and if you get lucky you can get a mirror to get an i100 weapon that is the SAME strength as a fully completed animus.
And to all the people who QQ that primals are too hard either A) dont want to learn the fight properly, or B) Dont care to push themselves.
tl;dr: Quit crying, man up, and try and get better at the game in different ways. if you dont want to do that then that is your fault and yours alone. SE is doing the right thing here by making atma a low drop rate.
I am Axle Ten, and i approve this message.
Well I disagree with the op. I have a family and full time job and the only reason that keeps me playing MMO's is that you have a game that can last years, that everything you do keeps adding and evolves all the time, last patch was really frustrating, because of all the weekly lockouts and besides the Binding Coil and Crystal tower there was nothing else worth to do, relics could be completed in a couple of days or in one day if you had the static and tombstones, so i ended up taking a break until patch 2.2. So no more content that can be zerged fast and easily. I do agree that if they're making time sinks at least be enjoyable and can be completed without depending to luck.
If you want to progress faster then do the BC or BC2 to upgrade your gear and weapons
Learning the mechanics of the EX and coil would take less time, and net better gear/weapons any day. Worse case scenario, if you can't be cutting edge, whatever your reason may be, SE will nerf it during the next patch making it easier to 'catch up' to the point of leading edge again.
The hardest part of ATMA is the grinding required for FATEs. After that, it's all baby cakes.

That's the opposite of what I've seen. I started trying t5 yesterday. Four groups and never once over two runs and all about the same exact result. We get going and someone doesn't do the stack right or something. Someone quits. Done, 5-10 min in DF and somebody quits after 1 run. Which is exactly what I'd expect. We had one where the guy told us how someone sucked (oddly haven't been targeted in the anger game yet) then proceeded to die first and quit out instantly. Another the pet wasn't in the right area and dude told us our mothers were waiting for him then quit. 1 run. I guess if that is how mmo's are maybe you're right it ain't my thing
Friday night actually got worse :/ they were trolling so maybe 2 hours and three runs. Theyd let everyone talk strat then quit on first pull. The three runs we did get in idk what OT was doing but he'd pull the mob as far from where I needed it as possible, he was prolly trolling too since he made fun of everyone there before quitting. I'd really like to beat it before going in with my FC but that doesn't even look like it can happen
