. . . I know you were being snarky but all that does is remind me of what a fun game Recettear is.The reality is that crafting is literally faceroll, how on earth can you expect prices to remain high? If you cant keep up with the undercutting then find something else to sell.
Getting so tired of carebear crafters that always want their item to be the next one to sell and then cry when people undercut them. WHy not go play a 1 player game void of a competitive economy, where everything gets sold for fixed prices. fun? lol...
Its better to sell 20 items in one day with a 30% undercut, than waiting a week to sell 1 item full value.
And what is the FULL value? It's the players greed themselves that put overpriced items. If I want to sell something, I will always check what's the lowest at the moment, then putting a little less so I can sell it. If someone undercuts me, and got a sale, nice job! You still put a price that's lower than the silly ones..
40k for Materia III, bec you know it's needed for the relic quests, and now that PS4 new users shows up, time to boost prices again! really..
I've always found games where the market is managed by users versus set prices, to be chaotic ^^
I understand we need gil; MB is but one way to make some.
And: why do some people sell some items cheaper than they could have gotten selling to an NPC? <-- well keep it up, I love to buy from you hehehe

Why people is undercutting ? need gils, them want max sells, it give more gils than waiting.
How them do ? them is camping at retainer, they certainly do instance, but check all times they can and undercutting, the only thing to do is the same, if you wanna make gils you don't have other choice than fight with others.
The realy bad thing is compet with the Cheating also, i saw a group auto AOE and AOE heals for days in the same place.
Also Bot for crafting, when you see so much stacks of HQ of a item you don't know if them craft with or without any bot.
SE can detect Bots but not all way of cheating (any script that just enter command in your place it's a other story)
Spirits Bonding still a good way, i think Materia would be Hard to Oversupplied, them need times to farm them^^
And them sell fast.
I left and started on the 3star markets for wvr and ltw, the sales aren't as frequent and there aren't as many crafters so the constant undercutting isn't so bad there, but the huge turn in profits when something sells makes up for it. I still check on af sets, militia tools and pre-relics from time to time though, the same person is still on top of the lists for every piece, of every set :/
2-star market recovers as the mats are dirty cheap and the competition is less tough (top crafters move to 3-star market). ez to make 300%+ profit which is higher profit rate than 3-star market and faster selling.I left and started on the 3star markets for wvr and ltw, the sales aren't as frequent and there aren't as many crafters so the constant undercutting isn't so bad there, but the huge turn in profits when something sells makes up for it. I mentioned this in another thread, and I'm sure it's not popular with people who take into consideration "profit margins" and such, which I personally don't care for, but unless you're the only one selling an item, you have no control over the value of the item. That's the way it should be. People are free to sell at however much they want, even if it's crazy, like people selling for same than/less than NPC sale price. As a buyer, I love getting good deals on stuff. As a seller, my main goal is to help others get good deals, but at the same time, avoid going so low, that people buy my stuff and re-sell it. With 50 in all crafts and gather, I simply do not have the time to do the math, I just put up items and see what happens. *shrugs*. I don't like all these posts about wanting to control the market, but it is what it is.
I do not like undercutting either, but that's how you ensure a sale. If you don't like it, then wait until their item is bought, and then yours will be purchased afterwards. If the item is not selling fast, then why do you care if someone undercuts you, if you are looking to make gil fast, you should look to sell something that people want instead. Someone undercuts me for my ahriman clock, I just leave it alone and wait for someone to pay for it at the price I put it, but more common items I will readjust the prices over time depending on how low it drops, or leave it alone.
Alternatively, you could compete with them and keep undercutting them until it's worthless, and then buy all of their items and resell them for more.
