That's so productive to this thread.

how long did it take you to get that one i can only speek from my experience as seems like the lower level areas seem to have a lower drop rate then higher level areas and the more focused the area is far as story content and all goes seems like its longer grinds kinda does make since as it is a way to keep the more focused areas alot more popultated
Don't you realize SE just randomly took the whole playerbase and said "these people can advance in 2 hours while THESE people have to take 120 hours".
For those of you defending this system, is there a number of hours for an Atmas drop that you WOULD consider unfair? 10 hours? 50 hours? 100 hours for a single Atmas? Whatever number you come up with, some random poor person is going to hit it with this RNG.
I think it took me around 30 minutes to one hour. I gotten the Central Shroud Atma around 10 hours after that, then the East Shroud Atma 1 hour after that. Central Thanalan took me a good 2-3 hours, then Western Thanalan took me just 2 FATE attempts to get its Atma.how long did it take you to get that one i can only speek from my experience as seems like the lower level areas seem to have a lower drop rate then higher level areas and the more focused the area is far as story content and all goes seems like its longer grinds kinda does make since as it is a way to keep the more focused areas alot more popultated
There's really no method or reason behind everything I tried. It's really all RNG.
Oh no, you grinded for 3 days and didn't get a drop? You're lucky XIV isn't like XI...

What's going to happen is if the Atma methods get nerfed, then there will be people who will cry over how it shouldn't have been nerfed in the first place or how they had to suffer to get the Atmas while everyone else gets it easy now.
You know, just like the Echo buffs.
okay simply put changing the atma drop rate will happen it will happen by 2.4
it has been stated flat out we dont want our players stuck on old content
2.3 will be expansion to ct 2.4 will expand coil thus item lev raising again and relic being bumped up again since the quest is posta be expanded
thus simple conclusion 2.4 will be made alot eaiser to get the atma as you will have to have this quest done to proceed to the next part of the relic quest line
alsp echo reference is a joke every day i run primal hm dailies since the echo has come into play i can say i have seen the echo buff used maybe 3x one time was used as a joke just to see how funny it would be with a 50 percent bonus and we all laughed bout it as the tank looked at his hp and goes mount buster what mountbuster
only complaing bout the echo was people who thought the echo was gonna make raiding even easier then it already is and just ruin end game it didnt do any of that
Did get the Central Than Atma last night total time just above 12 and half hours over 3 days for 1 atma, today went to East Than got it first fate, wow lucky. Then went to West Than a little over 5 hours no drop and left. Had at least 6 people come and go in party claiming to get it in that time.
This is exactly the problem. Several people got it in first fate like I did and others were like me there for 4+ hours and quit with frustration.
Also I did camp JBoots back in the EQ days but keep in mind that a long spawn time with a low drop chance is not the same thing as running back and forth in low level content constantly for hours on end. Also camping is just that you are at a spot you camp it. This is more of errand boy deliveries going from spot to spot fighting for a few minutes then moving on to the next spot for hours on end.
You know whats funny is that I played FFXI for years and things took a lot longer to earn for EVERYONE there was also more teamwork and leveling was a lot harder. This game is not FFXI its FFIV so don't compare them. This thread is a plea that something be done about the RNG of the drops. I understand that if you were the lucky who got them all in a week your saying how the quest isn't that bad and that others should suck it up but it wasn't bad for you.
For everyone who has the easy way with RNG there are the people who are just flat out unlucky. You can say that RNG haunts everyone but this isn't 1 drop it's 12 drops needed and while there is a very little chance that each one of them takes you 12 hours or more each there is STILL THAT CHANCE and THAT is the problem.
It's Final Fantasy IV? :P
