I never expect any kind of comments from the devs, especially considering how quick the forum community is to take what is said and twist it, distort it, read stuff into that isn't there. Really, if they did give feedback on it, it would just spawn more QQ threads. If they don't, it still spawns QQ threads. It's not the crappy RNG (all RNG is crappy, but it's a basic tool of MMOs and table top games), or the crappy FATES that's killing the fun of this game for people, it's the obsession of how crappy the tools are. I personally thought that the relic quest was just as brain-dead boring and easy as ATMA farming, especially after the first time through it. All the devs did was listen to thousands of QQ posts pre-2.2 equating timesinks and crappy RNG to "difficulty" because somehow that made FFXI "hard."

Did get the Central Than Atma last night total time just above 12 and half hours over 3 days for 1 atma, today went to East Than got it first fate, wow lucky. Then went to West Than a little over 5 hours no drop and left. Had at least 6 people come and go in party claiming to get it in that time.

This is exactly the problem. Several people got it in first fate like I did and others were like me there for 4+ hours and quit with frustration.

Also I did camp JBoots back in the EQ days but keep in mind that a long spawn time with a low drop chance is not the same thing as running back and forth in low level content constantly for hours on end. Also camping is just that you are at a spot you camp it. This is more of errand boy deliveries going from spot to spot fighting for a few minutes then moving on to the next spot for hours on end.
