    I can think of three viable ways to fix this
    1. increase the drop rate chance per fate tell one drops.. maybe make it a guaranteed drop after 200 fates that's still a lot of work to put into a single area but it gives you a goal.
    2. increase the over all drop rate of it to 20-30% thats still not really fixing the core issue of unlucky is unlucky.
    3. do away with the RNG completely and make it so you have to complete X number of fates
    Keep hammering away it will happen =).

    nobody is saying "we are working to adjsut it" just because SE maybe doesn't see the problem and think that in 1 or 2 months we'll stop complaining about it.
    But they're wrong, cause in 2 months many people won't pay the subscription again.
    I think they're making a big mistake ignoring us. The worst thing ever. And I feel like they're making fun of our intelligence and our patience.

    The rng isn't that bad. I'll admit I only have one atma (I got it soloing a few random fates in North shroud as I ran by on my way to do other things). But if you really grind the fates then you'll get your atma. 40 hours a week? Just do a few fates per day, or per week, and you can get yourself an atma stress free.

    Awe, I was hoping to lighten the mood with the determination stat joke. Anyways, I'm up to 7 now, seems like I get them faster if I grind them a couple hours and then take a break and do some Duty Finder or play something else for a little while and then come back to it again. Maybe that's the key to this all? Don't grind your eyes out on FATEs, just take it easy and do other things here and there.

    After some thought, I agree that it needs to be tweaked. Just thinking about a quest in an MMO being completely luck based is not quite right. For some who put in a couple hours a day and get drops, good for you. But, what about those who do the same and get no drop. Multiply that by a few hundred and subscriptions start dropping because people get frustrated. I personally enjoy seeing a lot of folks logged on and playing.

    The first relic quest set a specific course of action to complete. A goal-line where a player can chose to progress how they see fit. Whether that is do everything as quickly as possible or I will complete this playing a few hours a day and should be done in a couple months or so. If no changes happen at all, one could grind 2-3 hours a day for months and still not get close. With that said, good luck to you all!

    Except that Relics are going to be continually upgraded via this type of Atma. If this is how each and every upgrade is going to work (mind-numbing fates, hours upon hours of RNG that isn't fun or challenging, just boring hours of low level 5 fates over and over till your fingers fall off), then this is hugely problematic for something that is supposed to be "fun."

    47 FATEs and counting, no drops. Yes, this is so much fun. No, it's not. It's an extremely poorly implemented quest, with extremely poor drop rates. It's the worst form of grinding, where you have to level down on 90% of the FATEs just to do them. I didn't work my way to 50, only to run around as a level 12 again. It would be okay if I could earn ATMAs on other classes, that actually get XP from the FATEs. But as it is, I get NOTHING but a small token amount of gil. That...is a complete waste of time. The ATMA shouldn't be a super easy quest, but it shouldn't be this shoddy. Very, very disappointed if this is the best method they can come up with to do quests. I will end up cancelling my subscription if this is the new norm.

    If it's not fun stop doing it. It's certainly not a very interesting grind, but you know what your problem is the time, and even if it was an interesting story driven grind you'd be just as upset that it took too much time. Just take breaks when you get frustrated, I don't believe I have to explain such basic gaming stuff to people. It's just amazing to see you guys buzzwording so hard, your flimsy arguments could be used to say DMC shouldn't have a Dante Must Die difficulty because it's not "fun".

    I actually have been kind of preoccupied with grinding it and I'm enjoying myself. It would have been nice if it was something exclusive for the Atma rather than Fates, but a change like that wouldn't please any of you so there's no real point in bringing it up. I don't understand why everyone is so insistent on getting this changed. You'd think you're actually being wronged or abused somehow, you'll have it in a couple of weeks, chill out.
