As I stated before, waiting for things to get nerfed is not how content should be done. You're basically telling people to go get themselves locked out for several months until a nerf arrives.

Even if the devs respond, people will never be contented. You just can't please everyone so its useless. Im sure some will not rest from complaining even after SE says it is as it was intended to be. I got my 12 atmas already and is on my 3rd book now simply just by trying in between DF runs and doing dailies.

Well it's still possible! I mean we've got no data on the drop rate but if it's 1 in 100 there isn't some statistical point where it's impossible to keep getting rolls of 1-99. I'm not statistics expert but I'm referencing a post about Rivendare's Deathcharger that I always found informative(included below). Honestly at your point of unluck maybe you should try some theories the Japanese have about when drop rates are higher http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/commen...theory/cgrg28m either that or go try to get your curse lifted. I mean at 300+ attempts I'd just have to ask if you're accidentally equipping an Allagan weapon or something like that, but I'd definitely switch up where you're farming unless you're 11/12 of course.

A 1% drop rate means that each individual Baron kill, you have a 1 in 100 chance to see the mount drop. In other words, whether it's your first try or your 500th try, your chance to see it on that kill is 1%.
If you want to experiment with the drop rate before you start farming the mount, pick a number between 1 and 100 and /roll until you get it.
Killing Baron 100 times gives you a 63.4% chance to get the mount.
You have a...
...25% chance to see it drop within 28 runs.
...33% chance to see it drop within 40 runs.
...50% chance to see it drop within 68 runs.
...66% chance to see it drop within 109 runs.
...75% chance to see it drop within 138 runs.
...99% chance to see it drop within 458 runs.

I'd finally put in to this whole atma bashing and whatnot.
Frankly, I'm fine with it. I don't even have an atma weapon and I'm fine with the system the way it is. I've been at it since their induction, but lately I just go for FATEs on some downtime between doing dailies for tomes. So far I'm at 4/12.
The people who are saying "go do something else" are both right AND wrong. Wrong, because the items are part of the "story-drive" questlines. Right because you CAN get weapons currently comparable or even better than atmas. The problem I see with doing the latter is the current competency of playerbase. cont. …

Last night, I DF spammed Titan HM because I want to get the shield. One particular run, we had to use a 50% buff from echo, and even then a lot of people died. Which I just don't understand HOW that happens.
So yes, it seems that we got our relic weapons all too easy, so making the difficulty level of obtaining atma/animus all that much harder seems justifiable.

I agree here, I was doing my daily roulette, the tank had a holy shield Zenith, and the regular curtana, he was incapable of holding any form of aggro, I'd wait a few seconds and single target my dots as a smn, and it would pull the target he was hitting off and aggro onto me, he whined and complained the entire time about having to wait 1s for the GCD after using his skills, I don't understand how someone like that managed to get to 50 as a tank, let alone get a Relic/Zenith. I can sympathize with both sides of the argument because I CAN see the validity of both sides (for those wondering, no, I don't have my atma/animus yet. after 90+ hours of fates ((not counting breaks here and there to do other things to alleviate my frustration at not getting them)) I'm currently 8/12)Last night, I DF spammed Titan HM because I want to get the shield. Are you saying the run was easy because of the Echo? I fail to see how RNG is a better option to make something more difficult.

These days, it's like people are being coddled about getting their relic. Having to rely on a 50% to get your relic seems… unfair to those of us that had to do Titan HM pre-echo buff. But I suppose that's mainly bragging rights issues.
Speaking of, finally got goat atma last night, putting me at 5/12. Immediately afterI que'd into a Titan HM run where upon this really awesome SCH kept me alive long enough for us to tag-team Titan post-heart phase while he still had about 30% left. Getting atma and being able to essentially "carry" a group immediately after felt so Jesus.
As far as the RNG goes, yeah. It's actually pretty nice the way it is. The feeling of finally getting an atma leave me like… http://youtu.be/MCKoFtXR2Fw
Especially since the FATEs are intended to be done by any random schmuck leveling in the area and you're coming in with ridiculously overpowered gear. Yes, you level sync but your gear is still going to be better than the random crap some poor little level 15 newbie would have had at the time. This isn't a 'challenge'. It's a lottery.
