bottom line comes down to people dont want luck based quest you could tell people they need to grind 100 fates in 12 zones and there is a tracker for the amout of fates completed people would be fine with it
when luck is used right in a game it works beautifully i still find myself waiting for that venture to be done and going oh what did i get this time something good omg wow or meh and then i send em back out again wondering what ill get the next time
remove the luck from the atmas and the problem is fixed the qq would be alot less people will get it done either really fast or done slowly at there own pace but it will get done
remember the animus arent ment to be the only weapons in the game they are ment to be a weapon that can compete with raiders weapons and primal ex weapons so as future content is released one group of people dont have a large advantage over the other groups just cause they cant run the content or do not wish to run it

Yeah I don't know what to say linear grinds always were some of the most boring to me, unless it was something like farming a mat where I could find spawns and learn how to do it slightly faster over time, find the best places, etc, etc. I never had an issue with rare drops and frankly found it better to not track my progress as it just was discouraging. Honestly I think you can do the Atma farm at your own pace, the problem is people aren't doing that instead they're trying to do what is weeks if not more of a farm in a matter of days.

the problem im seeing with your statement is rare drop games like eq wow ect make rare drops where it has a drop chance of say 0.0001 percent chance where the atmas dont have a drop chance there is no hey it will drop x times out of x number of fates its random that is where the problem comes in not the grind its the possibity of never seeing it drop ever and there will be people who have that problem and those people shouldnt be caught up on a quest for gear progression just cause the dice dont roll in there favor where if they did x number of fates they would check off that zone and move on to the next raid gear is done the same way farm boss x times till piece drops and progress as you gear your team now if we took raid gear and said hey lets make you kill the boss but it may drop gear we dont know when but someday it will people would be pissed and there would be so much qq over it this is no different this is a raid weapon for non raiders

Don't you realize SE just randomly took the whole playerbase and said "these people can advance in 2 hours while THESE people have to take 120 hours".
For those of you defending this system, is there a number of hours for an Atmas drop that you WOULD consider unfair? 10 hours? 50 hours? 100 hours for a single Atmas? Whatever number you come up with, some random poor person is going to hit it with this RNG.
What's going to happen is if the Atma methods get nerfed, then there will be people who will cry over how it shouldn't have been nerfed in the first place or how they had to suffer to get the Atmas while everyone else gets it easy now.
You know, just like the Echo buffs.

okay simply put changing the atma drop rate will happen it will happen by 2.4
it has been stated flat out we dont want our players stuck on old content
2.3 will be expansion to ct 2.4 will expand coil thus item lev raising again and relic being bumped up again since the quest is posta be expanded
thus simple conclusion 2.4 will be made alot eaiser to get the atma as you will have to have this quest done to proceed to the next part of the relic quest line
alsp echo reference is a joke every day i run primal hm dailies since the echo has come into play i can say i have seen the echo buff used maybe 3x one time was used as a joke just to see how funny it would be with a 50 percent bonus and we all laughed bout it as the tank looked at his hp and goes mount buster what mountbuster
only complaing bout the echo was people who thought the echo was gonna make raiding even easier then it already is and just ruin end game it didnt do any of that
