    People keep saying gear is why, when it's not. Gear has nothing to do with it, considering the OP said:

    These are all mechanics fails, and no amount of gear will make up for them. Having all the gear in the world doesn't help when your healer is in a bubble or the boss sits at 100% from regen due to bad (read: not gear related) positioning.

    HM is easy because the few mechanics that exist are incredibly easy to do, very hard to mess up, and even if you do mess up you can usually survive them anyways. Plus most people that make it to endgame at least have some experience with dodging things or doing more than pewpew the boss, compared to normal mode where a lot of people are new to it in general.
