Reinventing Yourself Without Creating a New Character

I know we're going to get Fantasia (eventually...) but I also might like to change other things over time since I'm planning to stick to one character and I want to keep things fresh. Here are some suggestions:

- Choco renaming/respeccing (As a seal item, yes please).
- Retainer renaming / redesigning (Without having to start a completely new retainer).
- Character renaming.
- FC renaming.

Additionally, it'd be great if we could fight with our Chocobo and still ride other mounts (not just the Chocobo). Another cool idea is if we could level up and fight with other mounts than just our Chocobo.

Let us get creative from time to time or change things we get bored with. I'm totally fine with restrictions like Mog Station purchases (for Fantasia or Character renaming only), cool downs so you can't do this all the time, high gil costs, having to purchase items with seals, do a quest, or whatever.

I just don't like the idea that certain game choices are permanent and I think it would be far more fun if they weren't.

You can rename your chocobo at a chocobo porter, the stat reset is long overdue though.

It would rock my small, self-centered world if SE came up with a way to do true mounted combat in the game, instead of having the Chocobo running along beside you to fight.

I don't know if all porters can do it, but I know the town ones definitely can.

Good new is, if someone were to rename their character, you won't lose them on your friends list.

I know this because a friend transferred off server (and their name changed to 'deleted') then transferred back as a different name and I didn't have to refriend them.

Bad news is that, I suppose, if you were changing your name to avoid people, they could find you pretty easily if they chose to. Your lodestone page number does not change, anything you crafted that has your name on it will update with the new name and anyone ever on your friends list will see the change (even if you have removed them, it doesn't remove your name from their list, only yours).

Instead of being able to rename your FC I'd suggest just re-establishing one.
