I'm considering this from a number of angles including; helping my FC, being a better raider, and selling food for profit... I haven't looked too closely at material costs, and market rates (how quickly the sell and at what price) - so I thought I'd start here to gain some perspective on whether their generally used at all and which ones.

If you're looking at raiding, you should always have food. 4 man dungeons are so ridiculously easy that it's not really needed, but if you're ever attempting to progress through new or difficult content, food on every member can make a world of difference.
