Glamour - Still want to be more fabulous

I've checked the official art of Lancer where the character was wearing Gryphonskin gear (PUG/MNK) - and I really wish there was a bit lesser restriction on what people wear for glamour if possible. Like lower the class restriction or at least put it as rarity restriction instead. Also I'd appreciate it if new gears like HM/Amdapor and dungeon gears like Cavalry/Foestriker/Battlemage/Acolyte were dyeable while casting glamour too.

I'll admit that I really would like to be a PLD in Hussar's Jacket or Fistfighter's jackcoat (both dyeable) while wearing Alchemist's Robe on WHM. but that's just my two cents there.

What does everyone else think? Do you wish to have Gryphonskin PUG/MNK gear attached to your DRG like the official art?

back in the 1.0 days crafted gear was on par with dungeon gear, this Gryphonskin was used by the class's of PGL, ARC, LNC only thats why you saw that lnc with it on. it also had the fancy stats like FFXI.
but now its PGL,MNK and just numbers.

I guess. But honestly, I was disappointed that some glamours can't be used because of some 'unique' rarity or even class restrictions. I feel like they should allow some gears to be class restricted, not just spring dress, Lightning clothes, and Sailor suits. Like just allow more dungeon drops to be dyeable and glamour-able even if it's LNC/DRG or PUG/MNK restricted gears. Like how MNK should wear PLD armors too.

Even though it's a far stretched request, but I hope Dev team would get a chance to read this thread and at least give it a small consideration to allow classes to wear different class outfit.

I'd really love to tank in Alchemist/Culinary suit xD

It's all because of some feedback at early 1.0
At the beginning of 1.0 there were no restriction on the gear which class can wear it at what level. Everyone could wear everything at every level. Only that the stats on it got reduced if you don't wear it with a favored class or not at the optimal level.
Then people started to complain that level 1 classes are running around in lv 50 gear and that it destroy their immersion.

It wasn't about ruining immersion. It was about partying with players who were wearing gear they couldn't fully utilize, thereby bringing down the rest of their party when running dungeons like Toto-Rak or when out leveling in groups before the power-level really caught on.

That's not at all what it was about, dungeons didn't exist when gear was optimal/favored. By the time dungeons were released gear was already class/level restricted, the old gear was all "dated" by then.

Also, even then it still wouldn't have been a reason to remove the system from the game, just the player from your group.

Though this is the exact mentality that got all the fun stuff removed from the game, so case in point. ^

When I started playing, Toto-Rak was already in the game and they still had optimal gear sets. I always thought it was weird I could equip gear I wasn't high enough to properly use. I tried to stick with anything that tinted to yellow (think that meant you were 3 lvls below the range so you could use the gear w/o penalties) This was...Oct of 2010 or 2011(?). I don't remember seeing dated gear until Yoshi-P took over. The 1.18 patch iirc.

OT: Anyway, I would like to be able to wear gear across classes. I like how the Fistfighter(?) set looks but I never touch my pug/mnk and so will probably never lot on it even if I do see it drop.

I wish i could dye my Allagan gear, love the Aiming body.. but wish it were blue rather than green.

Eh, I just want Odin's armor to be glamour-able. Sucks to have such a nice suit of armor to go to waste.
