Yeah that was my point, and it was a bit tongue-in-cheek. I guess it's just easier for them to apply echo than nerf the dungeon. Seeing as they're upping it again in a couple of weeks all they have to do is change a percentage, not rework the dungeon.

Nerfing the dungeon doesn't help the players get good. Nerfing the dungeons will only increase the elitist whining about how "they couldn't try the original".
The boost to character stats is helpful since people usually play the whole, "get better gear" card. Which is what the boost is basically doing. They still have to do the fight with the mechanics as intended. It's a major boost to those that are already clearing the content yet it's a slight boost for that category of players that just don't want to learn mechanics or are incapable of doing so.
Ok, I don't care about the ramifications of it particularly. I've done enough Titan EX in the last week to know it doesn't help people cope with mechanics ; )
Just saying that from a man hours point of view, Echo buff is very easy for the dev team to apply and adjust compared to tweaking individual bits of the dungeon. Not sure where I'm going with that, I've never really played an MMO with an "echo" before, so I'm just thinking through the concept I guess.

It may look and feel like it's lazy or the easy way out. Yet that's not so. The community gave it's feedback and we've had vocal minorities state their 2 cents.Just saying that from a man hours point of view, Echo buff is very easy for the dev team to apply and adjust compared to tweaking individual bits of the dungeon. Sure they could have nerfed the damage from twisters and divebombs. The amount of times it would occur. Make it more "lenient" overall but the elitist crowd did not want that approach to be a thing. They wanted players to experience the "original" design of those said fights so that they know it was not easy. The "echo" buff takes that into consideration and casual players wont be downing those turns without some serious investment or gambling it all with the 25% to 50% buff.
Yet if those "elitist" were being serious and I really do mean that they were being serious. Down the line for nostalgia purposes said players could potentially put on their old ilvl 70-90 gear click off the "echo" buffs and get that "original" feel from Turns 1-5.
except that echo doesn't replace skill, i've been in echo build-up DFs for EX primals, and what i noticed was that the more echo they accumulated, the bigger mistakes they made, echo is nothing but a placebo that makes people think that it could carry them, while in reality it doesn't
