Southern Thanalan FATE: Blood, Augur, Hex, Magicks
Reference: RHCP album Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik
Fate in Upper La Noscea called - Nine Ilm Snails. Likely referencing the band Nine Inch Nails.
Acheivement, "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" referencing the song "Bodies"
Quest name, "Ifrit Bleeds we can Kill It" Referencing a line from the movie Predator.
Uh.. like.. everything in this game is a reference.
Sharknado, Forest Ires, Magick Stick, Talkin' about shafts.
It would be easier to point things that weren't references. Guess I'm not against this thread, just be prepared to organize every quest, achievement, and npc phrase in the game.

Pretty much this.
Some favorites levequest names are:
"Aint Nobody Got Time for Rats"
ref: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGxwbhkDjZM
"There's Something about Bury"
ref: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0129387/
"Whatchoo Talking About"
ref: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qw9oX-kZ_9k
"Don't Hit Me One More Time"
ref: eh you know it
Server: Sargatanas || Main Job: Scholar || Chocobo: Bonchon

My favourite?
Raubahn talking to "Ryder", code name "Mad Snake", propped onto one knee with his hand up to his ear at the Battle of Carteneau! (Reference to Metal Gear Solid)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LgG-SgOXhE
Mad SNAAAAAKKKKKEEE!
There's a fate that appears north of Horizon near the Imperial Outpost with hounds & Garlean soldiers are coming down the hill. The soldiers chat bubbles say "Engage" & "You will be assimilated", referencing STNG.

One of the random un-named Sahagin in the beastmen camp says "My only wish, to catch a fish. So juicy sweet!" a reference to Golum's song in LotR.

Pretty much all FATES are pop culture references. Perhaps just look for ones that show up elsewhere and are less obvious?

Just remembered another one - there's a FATE in Southern Thanalan near Little Ala Mhigo called 'Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger' - this is a direct reference to the electronic/house song of the same name by Daft Punk (which was famously used in the Leji Matsumoto anime film Interstella 5555 that was an extended video album of Daft Punk's music.) That brought a smile to my face when I saw it.
Also the FATE in Eastern La Noscea near Wineport called '9 to 5' is clearly a reference to the 1980's comedy film of the same name (and by extension, the Dolly Parton earworm that was the film's theme song).
Not just FATEs, but a lot of quest titles are also direct pop-culture references, often with little actual connection to the quest at hand or are just puns as to what the quests involve, such as the Northern Thanalan quest 'All Along the Watchtowers' clearly referencing the Bob Dylan song All Along the Watchtower (famously covered by Jimi Hendrix). Considering that's the whole point of this thread, I don't see any way not to post such references.

Like others have found... npc word bubbles, things like that.
