    turn 5 tanks

    Give me some advice please. The vids ive watched are filled w main tanks as plds. However on my server, everyone is suggesting warr as MT. Why is this so?

    Death Sentence is a huge amount of semi-regular predictable damage, which is absolutely perfect for Inner Beast. That's pretty much the entire reason.

    Mainly for mitigating Death Sentence. Warriors has access to Inner Beast. Inner Beast, on top of the extra HP from Defiance, and further 10% damage reduction debuff from Storm's Path, is a better damage mitigation tool against Death Sentence than just Paladin having Shield Oath and Rage of Halone.

    Paladins have to rotate their cooldowns for Death Sentence. At one point they'll eventually run out of cooldowns, and will need a Virus from the SCH/SMN.

    That's not to say Paladins can't MT however, my static uses a PLD MT for T5.

    Because Warriors were not popular a few patches ago and people who made guides when Twintania was current content were Paladins.

    A geared PLD at that time had near 7k HP. A completely unmitigated Death Sentence can hit for around 7k. Before calculation of any defensive cooldown, Shield Oath itself would take about 1400 off of that.

    Well geared Warriors had about 8300+ HP which, as you might have guessed, in conjunction with a properly timed inner beast gave healers a lot more slack to work with after every Death Sentence.

    Also for the fact PLD could pop HG and kite the snakes when shit hits the fan and also pop HG eating hatch while getting hit by 5x liquid hell AND still able to move.

    Holmgang makes you immobile.

    Together, that's why many raids make the WAR MT and PLD OT on T5. My raid inclusive.

    All else usually our PLD is the MT.

    Protip if you tank as a warrior: make a macro that use inner beast, then right after fracture. Fracture will act as a nice countdown for you to tell you approximately when the next DS is coming, so you can get ready with inner beast when it reaches zero (might come a bit later if other abilities like twisters or conflag are stacked before)

    That is certainly true. Also nice to have the paladin attempt to stun lock the dreads in the last part of the fight.

    Warr in this case is the natural fit for MT, for the reasons mostly already mentioned:
    - WAR Inner Beast every death sentence
    - PLD can stoneskin from the OT position
    - PLD does better job stunning Dreadguards during that phase - OT better position for that

    However, PLD works OK too. My static goes purely PLD MT & WAR OT just because PLD learned it, knows it cold, and so why bother learning new positions.

    The only reason you want PLD to OT is that they can chain stun Dreadknight in twister phase. otherwise it not really matter who MT. proper CD(or no CD but Virus on boss) +allo + WHM stoneskin for DS is more than enough to survive DS.

    been farming her pre 2.2 with 2 PLD set up never have any issue.
