    I agree, it'd be nice if the book FATEs had at least a set time to spawn. Feels really contradicting with the direction the game is finally taking that makes it so there's always something to do when some parts of the quest have a lot of downtime, like I said you could do other parts of the book before but when you're finally at the FATE part you still have to wait for them, which can anywhere from instantly to 2+ hours and you really can't do anything else or you might miss the tiny spawn window, except maybe summon your Chocobo and level it on other FATEs I guess. So yeah, a good solution would be set spawn times.

    I liked the parallel progression paths of yore. Raiders had their ilvl 90 coil gear that was the best gear in most cases to keep them happy. While at the same time more casual players had myth gear that was also ilvl 90 that they could work towards and slowly dip their feet in coil when they felt confident enough. This is what kept me happy, and kept me playing.

    Now though all top gear is locked behind the hardest content. Wave weapons are in reality locked behind Titan EX :P Titan HM was a major cockblock and Titan EX is the same. All ilvl 110 gear is in coil. Be it coil gear or the upgrade items for the masterworks gear (that is the same grind as myth gear was to achieve only with lesser rewards).

    Perhaps we don't know what SE's roadmap for content is just. This patch is maybe just to keep the hardcore raiders busy for awhile while the next patch will focus on more casual content *shrugs*
    For the love of God though please NO more stuff like that atma grinding.

    Square made some silly choices with 2.2

    - No way to upgrade to i110 equipment without running Coil. This alienates a huge portion of the player base because not everyone is a part of a good static. They should be rare drops from the HM dungeons or something. This is also gonna create problems in the future. When people start making PF groups that require an average item level unobtainable without i110 gear. Don't give the elitists power.

    - Atma stone drop rate being quite low. Relic quest is The meant to be a major questline. You're just upsetting people when you prevent them from progressing because of unlucky rng. The book grind is grindy enough. There's no good reason to have the atma stones be such a pain to get.

    - Mirror of whorl's drop rate being stupidly low. When 0.001% of the player base will be lucky enough to get one, why does it even exist? As it stands, unless you're super lucky, the tidal upgrade isn't even an alternative for a weapon choice because it's not feasible to obtain.

    - New HM dungeons being a joke in difficulty. Pre 2.2 Pharos was way harder. Hell, 2.0 Amdapor Keep was harder. No.. I can go even further. Arum Vale is harder.

    Yup, I believe in other MMOs there are often overworld bosses that also spawns on set times. Heck some even will have a count down timer.

    Since Yoshida wants us to grind in 2.2, seriously standing on the same place doing nothing, can't run too far from the FATE location isn't grinding. Give me a spawn time and meanwhile I can grind other things you want me to grind...

    I think it being a fate thing is the most unappealing factor.. There has been several fate hate threads. I don't plan to grind for my animus myself and just wish the mirror drops.

    It's only been a week.. Of a very early patch.. Why are a lot of people expecting xyz high level gear this early.

    The grind for the ATMA's is not even bad, you can pace yourself. Again, it's only been ONE WEEK since the patch dropped some of you need to remember that. Some people just want everything handed to them I guess. -shrug-

    "WAH-WAH, the grind for gear in an MMO is too difficult. Everything should have an above 75% drop rate on high tier items (mirror, atmas). WAH, SE WHY THE RNG SO TOUGH. I don't want to work for my gear, WAH." Seriously lol.

    I like 2.2.

    @OP, sorry you're having a rough time with 2.2, but it's still early man.

    You're just doing it wrong if you think you can't make money after reaching mastery level for gathering and crafting. 2.2 revived so much of the market and you could simply make bank just by gathering darksteel ore or crawler cocoon to feed other crafters. All the crafters got a bunch of new cool recipes aside from culinarian (they got shafted big time). How hard is it to make money just by making intermediate mats that are in high demand by other crafters?

    I won't be seeing my relics new paintjob till they fix the drop rates. But serious kudo's to the people with the fortitude to cope with that tedium all the same. Some are only getting their weapons now and have been grinding since patch. Which is a shame as I think the book system is a novel approach. I'll be focusing on EX primals and ilvl 100 masterworks gear in the meantime

    I'm totally with you on AV. My parties got slaughtered so many times because of gigantic mallets to the face, pulling too much trash, getting a dozen debuffs at a time from the bad breath attack and getting overwhelmed by trash, etc... That dungeon was amazing.

    Now my parties always steamroll the new dungeons and I manage to get through them completely drunk.

    The biggest thing that disappointed me was the new 4-player dungeons being too easy. I was honestly hoping they'd at least have been as challenging as pre-nerf Pharos Sirius. If it were up to me I'd have not nerfed Pharos Sirius, made the rewards for completion 50 myth 45 soldiery, moved it to Expert Roulette and made the new dungeons around the same level of difficulty.
