    For myth grind... do duty roulettes only and you're guaranteed to afford a book every 4-5 days... 9 books guaranteed in 45 days or less.
    For soldiery grind... duty roulettes and you cap in 3-4 days...
    Just need to pace it instead of trying to cap soldiery first day after reset, and complete the book part of the zodiak quest in as short time as possible...

    Coil in DF, already known that it was premade only for a short time and will allow solo and partial soon.

    Er... It was already winnable with 1-2 people dead. How do you think people sell the fight? You only need 3 dps and 1 tank. Anything else is optional (since healers do not contribute to damage). Now the setup changes to... Exactly the same.

    Well yes it's winnable with 1-2 people dead if your entire team has practiced the fight to death and overgeared. Which is kinda not the case with people that haven't cleared it yet.

    The reason that fight was so frustrating with an FC that needed to practice it and plays maybe 3-4 days a week is that before if one person died you can't continue period and you don't get to see anything that comes afterward. With the echo it's easier to continue onward and actually get a chance to experience the latter parts of the fight instead of constantly hitting brick walls due to new mechanics being introduced and wasting a bunch of valuable time on one fight when there is much more stuff that needs to be done in-game. Not to mention the echo lets you get to the "Good" parts of the fight while making the stuff you've done a million times already more tolerable, kind of like fast forwarding through the intro sequence of a TV series.

    I'm sure this is the absolute truth. Because we don't hear "A lot of my friends quit. I'm about to quit too," after EVERY SINGLE PATCH.

    I agree with the OP. New content is fun. Levi is an amazing fight. Turn 6 and 7 (I haven't done past that yet) are really well made, and I think they're fun. Moogle is a bit too RNG for my liking, but it's still a decent fight. New dungeons are great, but this grind... It's so much for just for the sole purpose of wasting time. Lots of my friends that I play with have quit over this patch, especially the atma part. They haven't even gotten to the myth grind.

    I'm not getting what you are saying. Mathematical example:
    Assume titan's heart stays out for 1 minute and has 40,000 HP.
    Therefore you need a total of 40000/60= 666 DPS sustained throughout the minute
    Let's say a DPS has a dps of 200.
    Then 3 dps + a tank that does 66 dps kills the heart at the instant that he would jump.
    If you had 4 dps and 2 tanks that do 100 dps each, then you would have 1000 total dps and would clear the phase in 40 seconds.
    So everyone alive= normal time (about the time he is about to drop bombs).
    1 dps dead= still overkill
    2 dps dead (second one died halfway into the phase)= still kill
    2 dps dead, 1 tank dead, remaining dps doing 300 dps each = still kill

    Now account for echo:
    Max echo=125%dps
    Take the 1000 dps example->becomes 1250 dps. You finish... 10 seconds sooner...
    If total dps was less:
    Say 4 DPS @ 150 dps, 2 tanks@75 dps
    Becomes->750 dps, which is winnable w/o buff
    1 dps dead: 600 dps, winnable with buff
    2 dps dead: 450*1.25<666, still unwinnable w/o buff
    So in other words, unless people were simply not pulling their weight before (titan is a DPS oriented fight) then echo wouldn't affect you. If you had a party that could clear it before with a few dead (note the example of using 200 dps, which is not high at all), then it literally doesn't change your completion status. Only if you had terrible dps from the start (nothing to do with mechanics) does this help you. So I don't see what the issue is.

    For me the disappointment was absolute takeover of RNG and over-grind.

    Coil RNG was bad enough for those who were attempting to gear up with lockouts, but now that Solidery gear is effectively a gimp version, all gear in 110 range is under a total lockdown behind Twintania and Coil 8 and even after words you're having to pray even harder to the RNG gods that you get a drop (or a lot).

    They've effectively made Masterwork Gear more difficult to get than Second Coil gear due to the grinding requirement beforehand, for a lesser overall performance to Coil gear for many pieces, and have left no alternatives for those outside Coil Raids to gear on, except to sit in unfinished Masterwork Gear until even the finished versions become obsolete.

    This patch was incredibly walled off to the majority of players. Leviathan Extreme: Have to complete the other two extremes (And once again Titan is a severe bottle-neck to any group with so much as one person lagging.) Levi-hard: gives no rewards. Battle on the Big Bridge: Gives no rewards. Masterwork Crafts: Require several million gil investment for LAST patch returns. (Where ideal, THIS is where we would be getting our ilvl100 gear from.)

    It overcompensated on the whole 'nothing to do' crowd, and now everything is at least three months away for the absolute baseline of performance upgrades.

    We'll see if this is a long-term change or not, but everyone in my FC has something to be upset about this patch more, than they are cheerful about other things. That's not a good sign.

    We're not having fun with this. There are ways to make long-term investments entertaining, and this wasn't it.

    But why would you need 110 gear outside of the the raid that supplies it? Makes sense that you get gear in the place that you will need it in. And lol at the part of using gil for ilvl 110 gear. Gil sellers would have a field day.
