Was trying to think of a good name for my female hyur (Shes now Elezen). This popped up in my head.

When selecting a starting class. I had wanted to be MRD/WAR, I had wanted to be creative and used Franchesca as the surname, originally from francisca/francesca which was a a throwing axe used by the Franks in the middle-ages. I added the 'h' to sound more feminine.

Masa Eriza

My intention was to have two characters--siblings--that would form a whole, similar to the Chrono series. Alas, Mune never made it out of the works.
Eriza is the last 5 letters of my family name. I felt it gives a slight exotic feel to the character, yet not too jarring and out of place in the setting.

Sainti Mejia (my alt)

Coming from XI as a Puppetmaster, one of my favorite H2H weapons were the Sainti. So elegant, and sounding slightly holy. Obviously I intended her to main MNK.
Mejia is my grandmother's maiden name. Again, slightly foreign yet also slightly familiar.. at least to me.

Sainti and Masa are meant to be relatives in some way. :3

what's it about:
Easy to rememberplus my wife named and designed the character. The last I check there is only 7 of us with the same lastname all over the servers. Have a sibling in game who is my sibling IRL too!

I used the roegadyn dictionary in the lore section and then used it to create a Roe name based on my real life's names meaning.

My real life name means 'nurturing and victorious queen' So my original Roe name was Kyndkoena Syggwyn...but that was to much for my friends + my 1.0 character had a K..... K.... name, so they got use to calling me 'KK' So I dropped the last name, Syggwyn and changed my name to Kynd Koena...which means I basically run around in-game by my first name (much like Seawolves do Fertile Bull, Steaming Mouse etc). Oh...and my friends can still call me "KK" without people thinking 'why do they call her that'

I retired this character when I did a server transfer to join old Xi LS mates on Sargatanas, the character I play now Shekina has gotten several questions from old friends as being a common African American name when in actuality a google search would tell them long ago it was the name of a Persian goddess as well.^^ Back in our old Xi days I referenced my main character and all of my mules by Egyptian mythology names, it's just a habit I carried from there to STO, SWTOR, and on to xiv here.

In XI and GW2, the LS/guilds I was in were kind of a huge network type thing. Lots of sister LS/guilds attached. That meant interacting with tons of different people all the time. More so than most. And the thing I heard all the time was "Do you ever talk? Why are you so shy?"

So in this game, I decided to advertise that I'm shy. But I still wanted to stick to lore as close as I could.

Now I mostly hear/see, "Wow. You really are shy."

It fit so well, my XI friends stopped calling me Aaralyn and default to Shy all the time now.
