Back on FFXI I used a character called Solidor because I was about 16 and had just finished FFXII. Hit a wall with storage so I made an alt account I could use on a second computer simply for mules - being the creative soul I am most of my mules are named in sequence - since we couldn't have numbers or symbols in our names in FFXI my character mules were as follows: Zeroa (0A) ZeroB (0B) ZeroC (0C). I eventually lost access to my main account after months of inactivity - when I did come back the only account I had access to was my mule account.
Zeroa was a Mithra and was my highest level mule - I used her as my melee DPS character - I made a second alt called Zeroaru that was a Tarutaru on this character i played mage jobs. The name stuck, the rest is history.

Fantasy name generator. If I had to decide on my own it would probably take me 3 hours. I have been using the name across many games for years now.

Been playing MMOs for a long time and I've came to realize that character names should be easy to pronounce and not too long; if it's long then it should be able to be shortened at a glance. I played with the in-game name generator and didn't like its lack of variety, so I just used a random non-game generator on the internet. The surname was taken from the in-game generator, though.
And just in case people meet in real life, the name shouldn't stand out too much in real life.
I don't carry over character names from different games because I want them to fit the lore.

My character name comes from a supporting character from Square's PSX game 'Vagrant Story' - Callo Merlose. It's one of my favorite games from Square. I used Noell as a first name since I always imagined that an FF mmo game should feature a character that could be considered a 'descendant' of some sorts.

My character name is my first son's name. The surname is the Japanese Wolf of Lightning. I liked the idea of playing a BLM and wanted something to represent a skill of theirs hence Raiju. Thinking about making a change with the last but we'll see.

This was the name of my FFXI character from the random name generator. It originally came up as "Lyneyah". I dropped the "h" and added "Rose" when I came to FFXIV. Rose just sounded good with Lyneya so it stuck.

Mine is from Final Fantasy: Unlimited; Lou Lupus is the lone survivor of a werewolf race on her homeworld that was destroyed by Omega. I even modeled my character to look similar to her ^..^
She is one of two werewolf main characters to ever appear in a Final Fantasy game (except maybe Lone Wolf from Final Fantasy VI which was a very minor character), the other being Kelger Vlondett one of the Four Warriors of Light from Final Fantasy V.

My real name is Rachel. I'm boring like that.
My name is Nick, and for some reason in high school everybody started calling me "Lord Nick."
It just kind of stuck, so I rolled with it. I alternate several names depending on what mmo I am playing. This wasn't even my original character I made, but it is the one I ended up sticking with.
