I took mine using a random miquo'te generator name until I found one that suited me ^^

Chen Kotomi
I always tell people "I'm stuck running as bard forever unless they add dancer!"
The reason is in the name.
"Chen" is associated with Touhou, and is also the name of my first Japanese teacher.
"Kotomi" is 琴美, a "koto" being a musical instrument, and "美" being the kanji for "beauty"
So yeah...when your name is taken from a musical instrument...
Plus since i'm a guy IRL, "Chen" is gender neutral. so I can get called it over voice programs and still have my character with a reasonable name.
Oh, and it's in the western name order...the character's first name IS Chen and her surname IS Kotomi, even though in the real world "Chen" is usually a surname and "Kotomi" is usually a first name.

Lexi is.... *drumroll* short for Alexandra which is my real name. Shocker, right? 'Snoot' came to be because of an American friend. He tends to ask me for words in my native tongue, Dutch. So one day he asked me for a random word and I typed 'kokosnoot' which means coconut in Dutch. He pronounced it as 'coo-coo-snoot' which is not the right way to say it :P
He then declared that my name is Lexi Snoot. Sometimes it's Snootles, Madam Snoot or Snootsnoot or Snoots. It pretty much stuck with me.

Meru came from Legend of Dragoon. I like the name, so i take it.

Aradan is the surname of her adoptive father, my 1.0 character. He died during the calamity so his legacy passed to her daughter. The surname came from the quenya and it mean "man from the outer world"

Well, I wanted to main a BLM from the beginning and I wanted to reference something I liked that would fit in with throwing Fire and Lightning around. I came up with what I am now!

I came up with the name Geryth with inspiration from Jareth the king of goblins from the Labyrinth. Drayfore was a name that I made up that I thought goes with it well.

In FFXI, on Fairy server, my main character Nixx had an Elvaan alt named Treubiont (something like that anyway) by the in-game generator and another Hume named Havik. When I discovered forums, I guess I thought it'd be clever to combine the two, making Treuhavik (True Havoc). Returning to the game later in it's life, I named my new Elvaan character Vikk, from the last three letters of that tag, with an extra K because 'Vik' was taken I think.

Before 1.0 launched, I had planned to main a Highlander named Wulf. However, when prompted to enter two names I sort of panicked and defaulted to Vik. As for the surname Vicious, I thought of Sid Vicious for some reason and alliteration happened.

The process behind picking the name for my main, Cloe Delisle, was fairly simple.

Cloe (or Chloe, Khloe, Kloe) is a fairly common name, and often enough given to house cats.
I used the -h spelling so that it would be 4-letter long. Short names tend to not get abbreviated by people (Although I am often enough referred simply as Clo). There's a bit of old-school nostalgia also because FF1 character names were limited to 4 characters back on NES.

Delisle was chosen for many reasons -- It's french for "Of the Isle". I aslo wanted to use a surname that would let people know right away that I am french (Canadian).

Cloe started in ARR in Limsa. Her surname doesn't really follow Moon'qote naming traditions, so I've always imagined she was raised by a rich WildWood Elezen house of traders living on an island near Limsa.
