Well...the first name is basically nonsense...

I wanted something that reflects polar opposites but works together like Yin and Yang. Thus I made Vanicesol Luna'ciel.

While Vanice is a real name, I never really believed it as such and tried it to be Vanice'DeSol, but in the first game I played it wouldn't fit that many words.

Luna'ciel is basically a word play of Lunacy and Lunatic. And as alluded to, this is basically my legacy character in a huge chunk of the MMOs I've played.

My forum name duceTRE, is Michael Jordan's jersey number, and also my PSN id, name character name comes from a character in the anime Bleach, Renji Abarai. I had another name before when I played a female character, Celestia Annadel, that I kinda came up with on my own. But switched it when I went male.

All my characters are lore accurate for their races.

"Katarh Mest" - Moonkeeper. Made up from my alpha character, "Catara" with "Mest" (a character from Fairy Tail) tacked on because I liked it.

"Ornlona Wistuwyn" - Sea Wolf. "Maple Gatherer, Daughter of West Dew." I intended her to be my main in XIV but I ended up playing my cat girl more because she was on the same server as my RL friends... oh well. Name chosen because it was not entirely impossible to spell.

Taprara Rara - Plainsfolk. My very first RP character was named "Tprara" for a Star Trek game. I've used that as a handle for almost 15 years since. I just tweaked it a little to make it wholly Lalafell.

Catwho was my character in FFXI.

My name is a combination of 2 names I've used on many characters through many games I've played,
Aiot was the first character name I actually paid some effort on creating, funny enough, even tho it exists irl (which I didnt know till years later), it has never failed me to be available, and this game was no exception.

Lein is my real main char name, based on my real name, but I just couldn't find a way to stick both names together with Lein being the start of it.
So, I inverted the order and added another letter from my real name to the last name which ended in "O'lein", giving it a military-sort-like feel to it.

I gotta admit I enjoy it every time Im called "lieutenant O'lein" in the game dialogs XP.
Sorta inspirted in "Fox Mc'Cloud" and the "D" from One Piece.

I am Sorial Fray. "Sorial" is a name I made up a long time ago when I played Twilight Princess. "Fray" comes from the Buffyverse... she is a vampire slayer in the future that Joss Whedon wrote a graphic novel about.

"Jet" is a tribute to Jet Enduro, my favorite character in Wild Arms 3.
then I added " 'a Vann" to respect the naming conventions. 'Vann' coming from nothing really, I just didn't want to use a surname already existing in-game, and couldn't think of something better that'd also sound Miqo'te-ish.

The rest of my characters follows the typical actual meaning structures:

Il'lumina Musto'Fende: Her name is supposed to be a shout out to Vandesdelca Musto Fende, a character in Tales of The Abyss but I screwed up a tad when it came to the actual meaning I was aiming for(Vandesdelca means One who will seize glory and I was aiming for that) so I plan on changing it to Vandesdelca Il'lumina soon enough.

Rag'narok Megidonia: It's exactly what you think it is(I was mainly being funny in an RP sort of way with her parents giving her an intimidating name that just makes it ridiculous). Ragnarok...is obvious. Megidonia is a play on Mount Megiddo, in the Bible where the Apocalypse takes place.

Frey'ja Rosa'linde: First name is mainly based on the goddess Freyja/Freya, goddess of fertility and life, witchcraft and gold as well as Chief Valkyrie.

Hinata Kagutsuchi: Is my 2nd attempt at being witty. Yes, her name is based on the Naruto character but I still picked it on it's meaning, Hinata either means Sunny place while Kagutsuchi is the Japanese Sun/Fire God...well dead one(I believe it's Fire). So it's basically 100% pun

Li'Shou Schrodinger: And my 3rd attempt at being witty...noticing a theme? Schrodinger is blatantly obvious to anyone who knows a bit about theory. Li'Shou...is based on a Chinese Cat God of Agriculture...and he's a Man'Qote Scholar...I'm more saddened no one really tells me about the blatant references.

I wanted something that rhymed with's dungeon. I had Mael Dzmael, Tonrak Totorak, Tali Halatali, Mai Wetcave, etc.

I settled for Sasha Sastasha and since I was a miqo'te at the time I added an apostrophe just to make it abit more lore friendly.

I'd change my name again, but I grew attached to my name. And spending $10 just to remove the appostrophe is a waste
