Your Character's Name

[FrejyaAthenes]

Frejya is the name of a Norse goddess that is beloved by the elves and Athenes comes from Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom and war (the tactical/strategic side as opposed to the violent/combat side that Ares embodies). Of course, since I plan to become a dragon in heaven's ward a name change might be in order. Right now I'm thinking about Nico in reference to a dragon character I played in another MMO, but I'm open to suggestions.

[Magis]

When I joined FFXI I wanted to play a BLM and named my character after the latin word for magic (Magus, yeah so original). That was taken to Magis became the next best thing. When FFXIV came out I copied my character over and gave him a rhyming name for lore reasons.

[Lethallin]

I made up this name years ago, and just attached the last name because I needed one for FFXIV.

I used it for almost everything.

Then, on my first playthough of Dragon Age way back when, one of the characters actually said my name out loud, but it wasn't directed to my character. I was so confused for a bit, until I realized that they were using a random made-up word that just happened to be my exact name.

Then after that, everyone assumed my name was from Dragon Age.

[Amenian]

I hit the random name button back in Neverwinter Nights and got Aminia for my female elf character. When blood elves came out in WoW I wanted to be a paladin, so I rolled one. I decided I would rather be a male then female so changed the name to Amenian. I just carried the name over here to FFXIV.

[Kaelah]

Kaelah: Back when I played WoW I was called Kaelah. I tried to call my character Kayla but was taken so I got creative with the spelling.
Tae: When I played XI, my friend helped me come up with my character name Taeyu, by combining some of my fav female characters from the FF series. Tifa Aeris and Yuna.

I wanted to use both just as a homage to my old MMO personas, I liked the ring of Kaelah Tae, particularly as Miqo'te, has a tribalish vibe.

[Azgalada]

Thanix comes form Mass Effect 2 and is the name of a cannon upgrade for the Normandy. Azgalada is my pride and joy though! It comes from WoW when an NPC had Curse of Tongues on it forcing it's speech to come out in Demonic. The usual line is "Arise my champion" and in Demonic Champion = Azgalada.

[AdamFyi]

Adam because I like the name. Plus it is a name I've grown very attached to in a lot of MMOs, so I stick with it.

Fylrmyn on the other hand, is an entirely different story. Till this day, I still have no clue on how I came up with this name. Nonetheless, in the story I wrote; "Fylr" was the name of the reigning royal family in Fimary. Men born into the royal family are given the last name Fylr-"myn", while the women are given the last name Fylr-"hymr". Don't ask me why, it just works like that. Haha.

[Reokudo]

I name all of my characters in games after those I made for my books. They each drew inspiration from different sources and some being names I've used before I ever started writing.
Ryu: Name inspired from the Breath of Fire game's protags. Also since it means dragon.
Reokudo: Was the name of my FFXI character.

[DSaint]

Dantyen: It is a mix of "Dante" + "random name" which came out of my mind. So, its ended like Dantyen.

Saint: Single english form of my real life surname. Plus, this word remember something "holy", someone born to protect and perform good deeds.

[Meshico]

Taritzu - was a mashup in my head of "Tarutaru" from FFXI, and I've always been found of Z's. I have a little background on it, which I will eventually share someday

Vesper - Because I usually play in the evening's, and I enjoyed the night in FFXI, and games that change in the night. With much harder monsters and such, and again some lore behind it but will share later.
