IRL I have a very blunt sounding name which I've grown to dislike.

I've always been fond of the name 'Mora' since it's short and pleasant sounding and easy to remember. (It also has some interesting sources, such as night creatures from Slavic folklore that sneak into your bedroom at night and strangle you in your sleep. Muahaha)

Claret is a red Bordeaux wine which I thought fit my character's hair color and personality.

Varenian was just a name I made up for my Dark Elf Assassin in EverQuest II. Xemura is something I randomly came up with for XIV. Boring answer, sorry.

When I started playing WoW in 2008, I used a bunch of filler names to try out which class I liked best. Zwipe was what I named my rogue after the Transformer Sideswipe. Zwipe became my main and I've brought the name along with me ever since.

The Ballad of Lost C'Mell by Cordwainer Smith is about a genetically engineered cat-girl. When I started playing a Miqo'te, it seemed appropriate.
