Weird problems in city... Possible computer issue?

So, occasionally when I'm In city's I'll have weird... Glitches... Where parts of my screen will flick black or yellowish. Usually in weird shapes like unevenly long triangles. This happens when the graphics are turned Up or down. My computer is no pushover, I'm running a 3.0ghz amd processor with a radeon 7770 gc. 750 watt psu, and 4gig of ram. I got my pc about... Nov. Of 13, so not too long ago. But this just started maybe a mint ago doing this. I'm fairly computer savvy, but can't figure it out for the life of me. Any ideas on what's wrong or how to fix it?

Sounds like either a buggy video card driver (in which case, reinstall it or upgrade to a new version of the driver if available), or else your video card might be dying sadly - I had a similar problem back in my early days in FFXI and it preceded total hardware failure of my video card (the actual GPU chip overheated and physically melted) - in the weeks leading up to that, I used to get random flickering of textures and weird graphic artifacts which only worsened over time. Replacing my video card fixed the problem (and I've never had a card die on me like that one did).

Ahh. Ok. Yeah that would be sad if it's dying I just got it a month after the computer. I'll try drivers first. I know amd did change up there stuff. So now I can't find the exact 7770 drivers, only the "hd 7700 series" which it must download some all around generic driver for Them or something.

Like these? It's either a driver issue, failing video card, or the video card is overheating. This happened on my laptop with the previous 334.XX drivers from Nvidia. It doesn't do it now with 335.23, but in my case it could also have been overheating because of water effects (my GPU can get upwards of 90C lol, I mainly play on PS3 to avoid killing my laptop).

EDIT: Also if AMD does drivers like Nvidia, they're universal for the series of cards. So maybe just find the latest drivers that are compatible with your GPU. For example, the latest (beta) drivers for my Geforce 310m in my laptop is 337.50, which is the same as the newest for the Geforce GTX TITAN BLACK and GTX 780. The current non beta drivers are the same as well, 335.23.

I have seen this issue before. When this happens, try pressing Alt + Tab or the Windows key to return to your Desktop, then Alt + Tab back to FFXIV. That has done the trick for me in the past. Of course, you should always update your video card drivers too.

    Best of luck!

It does sound like a graphic card issue. Is your 7770 made by XFX? Might be from high card temps

No, if I remember correctly it's a sapphire radeon 7770. And as for high temps, it shouldn't be getting hot, it has a fan on itself, and I actually have a cooler master 212 evo fan on my processor which actually blows down on the back of the 7770. I'm going guess it's possibly failing. =/ that's ok, I'm going pick up a XFX Double D FX-787A-CDFC Radeon HD 7870 GHz when I get paid. That should solve it.

Yeah, that is your graphics card artifacting. It is more than likely overheating, so you might want to take it out and give the heat-sink a thorough cleaning. If you've got it OCd, then back it down. You can run a few stress tests to see how well it handling temps in real time with some free benchmarking software (I use FurMark). If you're running a beta driver, that could also be an issue on the way that the card is handling itself, so you might consider rolling back to the last stable release.

Sapphire makes pretty good GPUs. It's probably full of cat hair.

Under the assumption I have cats.

    Lol.

But, I don't let it get dusty. I actually think I'm a little ocd, I clean all my stuff every 2 weeks to make sure it's not dusty.
