Issue turning in materia-affixed HQ items to Grand Company Officer

Steps:
1. Build (or buy from Market Place) a HQ version of requested item.
2. Attach Materia to it.
3. Attempt to hand it in.

I attempted to hand in an old unwanted piece of HQ gear that had materia attached to it but the UI window prompting me to hand in a HQ item would not respond to my choice.

The current workaround is to go all the way to Central Thanalan, talk to Mutamix, and have him destroy the materia on the piece of gear before turning it in to the Grand Company provisions officer, but it sure is an inconvenience to do that traveling just so I can get my daily stash of company seals.

I'm receiving the same error when trying to turn in an HQ Boarskin Skirt to Maisenta in New Gridania for the quest, "Skirt Chaser." My skirt has a Heavens' Eye Materia I on it and, when I attempt to turn the item in, I become stuck in a menu asking if I am sure I would like to turn in the item although it has materia attached.
