XP Gain From Dungeons Vs Duty Roulette

So I was curious. I know that once a day I can use the low level Duty Roulette for a massive XP boost. What I'm curious of is this: After I use my Duty Roulette Bonus for the day, is it still an effective was to level to keep doing dungeons? And if so, am I ok to pick which dungeons I'd like to do versus continuing to use the Duty Roulette even though the bonus has been used?

Just thought I'd ask. I'm currently level 48 on my first class I've tried leveling (SMN), and up until now I'd always only do about one dungeon a day using Duty Roulette for the bonus, then I would grind some fates, do a few hunting logs, and some main story quests and side quests.

Trying to streamline my gameplay some to get the most out of my game-time!

As always, thanks for any and all help!

Dungeons are fine for leveling up. They're not necessarily the very quickest route (I think, especially with the Atma madness as it is now, that FATE grinding is still the most XP/hour, and when you get to it, farming the first room of AV over and over with a premade is apparently stupidly good, too), but they're pretty decent.

After the daily roulette, you're better off selecting the top one or two dungeons from those available. Assuming all other things are equal (queue time(s) and likelihood of successful completion), that is. You might find it better to leave certain instances off the list (Aurum Vale has historically been extremely hit or miss as far as parties actually succeeding, but I haven't done much with it since 2.2). Regardless, do other things while you wait on the queue (hunting/challenge log, battle leves, beastmen dailies, FATEs).

Bixby is right. Dungeons are still good XP without the roulette bonus as long as you do ones that are close to your actual level. You can usually end up getting 1/2 to 2/3 of a level per run if not more.

also good if you have the rested exp bonus, food bonus, fc bonus, and/or level difference bonus. the only issue is the q times for dps. if you are leveling smn, what I did was switch to scholar since they level up together and just q fast as a healer.

That's cool! Hadn't thought of that! I was thinking of leveling a Paladin next. Is there anything that I'd be able to level up along side that as well?

No. Currently, ACN is the only class that branches into multiple jobs. GLA and other classes may get additional jobs in the future, but nothing's been announced.

Just so you know, you won't need an alt job for PLD. Tanks are in high demand so your queues will likely be instant and you can enjoy the sweet sweet roulette gil bonus.
