PS3 Players are Handicapped

There can be many different causes and types of "lag". Sometimes it's caused by network latency, sometimes it's caused by packet loss, and sometimes (as is the case with many Playstation 3 players) it's caused by Blu-ray or HDD bottlenecking. This is why you hear so many people saying that replacing the HDD inside of their PS3 with an SSD greatly improved the experience they had with the game, because the game can read unloaded assets into RAM more quickly from a solid state drive than it can from a hard drive or Blu-ray disc.
