PS3 Players are Handicapped

I'd like to know where he said he was speaking for all PS3 players. All he said was, he played on both systems and, in his opinion, PS3 sucks compared to PS4 (shocker). There is no doubt in anyone's mind the PS3 will hold back possible development for this game like the PS2 did for FFXI. I played XI for a long time, and no, I didn't scream for PS2 support to be dropped. The running joke just became "PS2 limitations" as to why they couldn't do anything with the game. For now it seems the running joke is "server stress".

If they want to have this game run for 10+ years like it's predecessor, they should consider dropping the weakest link in the chain. Not right now obviously, Sony can't even keep up with demand for the console.

i feel like this is a bait thread, so you win i'll bite.

support will continue for the ps3 for as long as it makes money. the moment the costs become too great to accommodate the old system then it will be dropped.
it has already been stated that 3.0 is ps3 friendly. i think its safe to assume that 3.xx will be no different. roughly a year until 3.0 comes out and roughly 2 years of 3.xx would equal at least 3+ years of ps3.

I never said I couldn't do content at all on PS3. I said it was an annoying struggle. Titan is one example of content they will probably avoid until PS3 is done away with. Plumes are hard to dodge because by the time PS3 registers the AoE's it has already happened.

If they gave you a $100 coupon off a PS4, would that sway your opinion on when you would upgrade? Considering PS3 would be to be dropped in a month?

That's just it though... I do not struggle playing on PS3. I do not "lag" because of the console, the ONLY time I lag is slow load times when entering/exiting zones and FATEs. I do not lag on Dive bombs, I do not lag in dungeons, I don't have any of these supposed "PS3" problems.

And no, I wouldn't buy the PS4 any time sooner because I'm going to be getting it as a birthday gift. So I've had this planned, not gonna rush my plans if SE were stupid enough to listen to this about dropping PS3 support sooner.

After hearing about the loading times on PS3 I'm thinking of upgrading to a PS4. But they just shouldn't stop support on PS3 because a few players said it should be so. Give them time to see how many PS3 player switch to PS4 over the next year or so. Two years after launch sounds good enough, we are just over four months from the 1st year, So that gives people plenty of time to save up the money, And I'm sure there will be price drops coming soon.

First time poster, but a long time reader here.
We were talking about the people like the OP with my raid group (2 of us on PS3). We just laughed at people making up excuses for not clearing content based on your console when you actually have the same tools everyone else has to clear it.
You have mechanichs to deal with (dodging, or otherwise) and abilities to perform your job. Being in a PS3 has nothing to do with your potential performance in whatever content you are tackling on. What decides its outcome is you doing your job and dealing with mechanichs properly.
Hardore/casual discussion regarding PS3-nonPS3 players? I just have to say that's simply nonsense. There are hardcore PS3 players & casuals PC players, and viceversa.
It's funny that you think they'd drop support for us after 6 months of release; that'd be an awful business decision. Good thing you don't make those.

Ps3 has had that option for quite a while now. At least since january, probably since launch but I am Unsure.

Also, this thread yells elitist. Yeah, ps4 is better since its a newer system, but the ps3 is still able to clear content. I have a few in my static that use ps3 and they never have issues

Sorry I was mistaken then. Also, no. I'm not an elitist. PS3 isn't capable of much more. They have stated it and said that to stay competitive they would have to drop it sooner or later.

You said you were on the other side of the fence before clearing difficult content, yet you didn't beat T4 until PS4 beta when lockouts were gone and didn't beat Titan until the echo buff. I have to question what you consider difficult.

I've beaten Turns 1-5 and all EX Primals on PS3, as have many others. If you weren't able to then I'm sorry to say it's because you simply aren't good enough.

I beat Coil right after 2.1 went live and I use the Scholar Primal weapon, so shove it man. I am good enough to clear it. It was just 1000 times easier especially on Titan Ex due to Weight of the Land actually giving me time to get out. I couldn't tank turn 4 because I didn't get to see the adds dropping until 1-2 seconds after they hit the ground and I am not good enough at tanking to get aggro back from 2BLM 1MNK and 1BRD honestly.

TL;DR: PS3 not the issue; you are just bad.

TL;DR: It will be dropped because it CAN'T handle future stuff. They are just thinking businessly (word?) with keeping it around for another year or so at maximum most likely.

Let's face it: they only released PS3 version to tide us console players over till PS4 and to keep good on their original word that it would be available on PS3 almost 4 years ago.
