This is not true, I have my bootcamped mac mini plugged into the same wire I used to play with on the PS3 and my PS3 lagged alot more then when i play PC version. My PC (well mac) is low end, its still alot better then PS3, but its not near as good as PS4 or a gaming PC, and it does not lag like my ps3. PS3 has hardware lag, more then a PC or PS4. If you think it does not, then you really need to go play on a PS3 a bit to see it does lag a bit due to the 8yr old equipment. FFXIV does great on PS3 for what it is, but it is a PS3 and it is limited in high stress areas.

Because of the type of game this is, what do you think is truly the actual problem, bottlenecking or just a bad connection or connection component?
When you are limited to 256 megabytes of memory, the only things the game is keeping in RAM are things which are being very frequently accessed. Character models, armor textures, weaponskill animations and sound effects, enemy models and animations, and so on. You can't afford to keep something only used sparingly in memory because there are so many other assets competing for space. As a result, assets for some boss abilities may be pushed out of RAM if they are not used frequently enough, meaning that the next time the boss uses said ability, the Playstation may receive the information from the server just fine ("Twintania readies Divebomb") but must spend a small amount of additional time loading assets from the hard disk. This manifests to the player as "lag" even though it may have absolutely nothing to do with network latency.

Just lol @ TC. If you have no chance to dodge something its your internet. Did you ever use ethernet cable for PS3? The WiFi card sucks and that is well known. My guess the difference is you using Wifi for both. Of course the 8 year older wifi card isnt as good. Also, SSD makes the loads about the same. The HD on PS4 reads at such a faster rate compared to normal PS3 HD. It looks choppier but that's about it and not as nice, but that doesn't stop from dodging stuff.

ITT: PS3 apologists make up wild excuses when someone points out they are gimping any group they play with.

I'm not bothering to read 10 pages of what is likely the same PS3/PC/PS4 crap arguments that have been going on for months and months now. My only statement to the OP is this:

SSD in my PS3. Game runs fast and flawlessly, with the only lag/delay/issue in any way coming from internet issues when roommates stream tons of crap. I'm fine. Please don't speak for me.

how come you cant beat Titan Extreme on PS3?

i find avoiding at titan EX is far easier than twintania divebombs which require moving before symbol appearance

I disagree. On the PS3, I have to pre-dodge plumes and Landslide by 1-2.5 seconds. On the PS4, I never had to pre-dodge and if I did, it would get everyone hit by my plume (because it's not stacked with the others, because I tried to pre-dodge). Fact is, my Internet was never an issue. It was and has always been the PS3.

Edit: I should add that I live in Australia and play on a NA server. Still didn't lag on PS4.

I've done up to T4 on PS3 and garuda only of the extremes with no real noticeable lag, especially after I installed SSD. Not gonna lie before SSD primals mainly lagged, but after SSD nothing. Any lag I faced was because of my internet or SE itself.
I haven't tried T5 yet but really, I don't believe I gimped any group I was with in all the months I was playing the game. I've done it all from normal runs to speed runs and any failures are basically me screwing up.

So you use WiFi or Ethernet? I'm guessing WiFi and to add youre in Australia there's no wonder. Finish the post you quoted. I been on ps3 since beta and unless I'm lagging, and I notice, I never have any issues with seeing stuff and moving out and dodging it.

You'd be guessing wrong. I'm on a wired connection.

So my fact still stands: it was never my Internet. It was and always has been the PS3.
