Atmas - Unfair for low level players

I must strongly agree with op. We have new members who have just started in the fc and have said that fates are over to quickly because of those of us that are lvl50.
Also at low level players do not have a mount yet so must walk/run from fate to fate and chances are that they would be over when they get there.
I still strongly say that the atma drops should be from doing EX Primals and what not, besides the RNG system is very bad.

Most of zones have mid level FATEs. Some of them even have enough FATEs that don't require 50s to sync that a level 50 can grind exclusively on them.

Central Shroud has Sorrel Haven and Spriggan Dig.
North Shroud has the areas surrounding Fallgourd Float.
East Shroud has Sylphlands.
Western La Noscea has the area west of Camp Skull Valley.
Upper and Outer La Noscea are not low level zones.
Eastern Thanalan has everything east of Drybone (Burning Wall).
Southern Thanalan has Zahar'ak and Sagolii Desert.

That leaves Middle La Noscea, Lower La Noscea, Central Thanalan, Western Thanalan that are exclusively low level zones. That's 25%. Not a majority at all.

Well I was in Middle La Noscea and I did a low lvl FATE there, no one else was there. I killed a few of the mobs but then had a brain fart and thought that zone didn't drop an atma lol. So I started running towards the entrance to another zone without completing the FATE, stopped to look at my journal & then it said FATE Complete and I got the atma of the ram, lol.

So idk how it got complete cause there was no one there (maybe the npc's?) but yea you can get an atma just by killing a few then going to another fate without hogging everything from ppl actually trying to level or get seals for GC rank ups.

My bad, wasn't clear on my post. Yeah I know you can get atma with bronze, silver, gold even if you walk off. (was mentioned in my previous) just not sure if you get the FAILED but still get bronze/silver/gold the atma drops. I've seen one FAIL when I was running fates but still got gold, just didn't confirm any atma drop in that FATE, so that's the part I was talking about. If you can get Atma's even if the FATE fails then this should be good enough to help out low level players still run the FATEs.

Sounds to me like your just whining about not being able to get your own ATMA, and has nothing to do with leveling; because every one knows now that the best way to level up these days is through dungeons, not fate farming.

Personally, I prefer dungeons, but not everyone wants to level the same way. The OP has a valid point.

Grinding fates are definitely a bad way to implement it but let's not fool ourselves. Most people would have a problem with any implementation that took less than 4 to 8 hours of time invested. Whether it was a rare mob, Soldiery Tomes, or dungeons.

The thing people don't notice is there are 4 MAJOR levelling fate zones which are NOT included in the ATMA farm, South shroud, Eastern La Noscea, Northern Thanalan and Coerthas. The majority of people using FATES for xp are in those zones and clearly square did this to try get people to do fates in zones where people are generally ignoring. So I don't think that it affects anyone in those regards. For the very low levels who are just exiting towns there is an abundance of story quests and sidequests and first time dungeon rewards to get them to the stage where they can go to quarrymill or costa del sol or coerthas where there is no ATMA farmers.

Its no different than when 2.0 launched, and fates were swarmed w/ a bunch of "low lvls" (because honestly lvl doesnt matter when you are sync'd). Things will calm down soon as people get their first atma weapon and grind that out. Its just growing pains.

the low lvl fate will get clear fast even w/o high lvl player. I gotta remind that high lvl player when do fate got their lvl and gear drop down to that lvl of fate so their gear should be equal with low lvl player or weaker.The complain is invalid

Not really. You're still strong as hell even when you get synced down. Even healers can blow through low level fates just by dotting up and casting an occasional cure.

I was PMed by 10 low lvl people saying I am an "a**hole" and other rude comments and I apologized to them sincerely and explained that it was really developers that though of this ridiculous idea.

Or maybe you should have invited them to your atma party and maybe they wouldn't complain?

If you see low levels, offer to help out, rather than pretend to empathize with their plight.


Personally I like the atma quest, because people had stopped doing FATEs for the most part in low level zones and this quest encourages more players to participate in them. I never see FATE hogging. If there are genuine low levels at these FATEs, they are still able to get gold by doing what they can. Remember, there is a hard cap on stats when synced, so a level 50 will be the same as a level 20 at a FATE.

Telling others how to play is such a lovely thing that works both ways and gets you both nowhere.

As it is the game provides a level sync, and up-scales the encounters proportionate to the number of participants. If new players are finding difficulty in claiming enough enmity within the time span of the encounter it's really not a developer issue - it's a player issue. Inexperience is a thing. You can get gold naked, solo, wielding a highly under-level weapon - I can understand how the encounter might feel less than thrilling when it's trounced by a wave of players - but that's FATE. There is a reason few people enjoyed FATE to begin with - it was the exact same way when people were leveling their main/alt classes en masse.

The only "a**hole" is the guy that attacked you in chat for playing the game just the same as him.

Why would you side with someone who's got such a foul and outright hostile attitude towards other people? Honestly.
