I was playing a lowbie character for a while today and I have to say that the atmas in fates make this EASIER! Before almost no one was around to help and I died/failed fates so much I avoided them on low level characters....

^ This.[...] instead of going in there with my Bard to hunt Atma too I rushed there with my Lancer and bashed away tons of exp faster than I have done in weeks, because DPS queue for dungeons is no fun.
So basically I was just super excited about insanely fast insanely easy EXP. So like..whaaaa? o.o;
As much as I think SE made a mess by having Lv50 players run around low level area, confusing new players... I actually feel that it makes leveling a 2nd job easier with those higher level players running FATES.
It could be a problem for close range combat classes tho. Imagine a new player running up to a monster and before he can click his weapon skill, Bam! The monster dies. Just speculating. Gotta try it with my lowbie lancer tonight![]()
It might be confusing for an actual newbie with close range combat, yeah. Need to give them a quick lesson. It's just basically TAB+1, TAB+1, TAB+1.. Hope something hits. =P Usually does. LOL
She's just trying to use low level people as an excuse to change the Atma situation... When's the last time you've seen a level 50 person care about the "FATE" situation of a level 5 man!!! We're on to you missy!!!
i dont see the point. fates are lv capped, meaning that the high lv players are capped down to the same lv about as the low lv people. so they have access to the same aoe's as everyone else when capped. why cant they do what everyone else is doing? Players below lv 20, ya wouldnt have access to chocobos i guess, but its not like having a chocobo garuntees u make it to every fate on time. All of us have shown up jsut as the fate has ended an wasted the ride there many many many times, its what happens when 100 people do the same fates in the same zone for a extended period of time. The faster fates end, the faster you xp.
I get your point on lack of chocobos which makes getting to some fates a bit challenging. But I still think the alternative would be worst. Sitting in a zone with very few fates popping with some of them being boss mob fates that you have no hope soloing. It's a bit depressing staring at an event you can't do a thing with because you can't solo and no one else is there.
Maybe I'm on a less populated server. But I haven't found the numbers in each zone that overwhelming. Yes there are a lot of high levels farming atmas but the atma farm spreads them out across the entire map. So I just don't see this idea that there is a focal point that causes all the 50s to en mass on one fate and demolish it. When I was atma farming the zones felt more alive then they have in the past. But it still isn't the "hordes" we had at launch.
I think the atma move was smart it did exactly what they wanted it to do. Fates are active again and that in the end benefits low level players more than it hurts.
yes i fully agree with OP !
I completed my atma quest and killing lvl 3 mobs was really annoying. They could just put us in areas with 30+/40+ only fates.
Hi, as someone who's new to the game, and played through lower level zones with 50's grinding for ATMA's, I'd like to ask SE to ignore the OP.
Yes, it's annoying when the mobs are killed faster than I can cast a DoT on them, even more annoying when you can tell that it's a 50 who doesn't know how to use the sync button.
However, it's not even been a week since the patch released.
I don't think the OP cares the least about lower level players, he commented about the drop rate; I believe that that is his problem.
I'm sorry, but it's pretty pathetic that I'm seeing so many people complaining about not being able to get one of the best weapons in the game in less than a week. Seriously, that's sad, and it's you people that ruin games.
I personally like the change up where FATE grinding isn't the best source of XP anymore. It makes many players run dungeons with an actual attempt to learn their role. The earlier the better. FATEs were designed to be passive content, if you are there then by all means. Yoshi since launch never stated it being a primary reason for lvling. Now it has more purpose for seals and Atmas.
I had this happen the other day doing Halatali HM.
* Party dies at 2nd group of mobs, 2 groups combined as everyone is a tank. Healer of course dies first.Originally Posted by Random DF Tank

Ill call bull. I had farmed my atma weps and ever since 2.1 all fates spawn more mobs, which will have more hp depending on the ammount of people in the area doing the fates. Because now fates do scale depending on the ammount of peeps around, lowbies have enough time to smack mobs as 50 casters blasting blizzard 2 will not insta gib a fate anymore. on my server lowbies group up with the high lvls. never was i been dissed at ect by lowbies. It is suicide to even spam bliz 2 on a huge group of mobs as they can instagib you which has happened to me quite alot on low lvl fates.
